Expensive drinks for the little amount of alcohol in them, but a very fun atmosphere! Great place to go if you are making your way through town. They have a dance area and a bar upstairs and downstairs.

This bar is getting a one-star rating based solely on the totally unprofessional demeanor of one of the security employees at this establishment.Just so the management knows, he has an earring in his left ear and at least one tattoo on his arm. He's about 6'3'' and walks around the bar picking up women and holding and hugging them.At no other bar in Downtown Lincoln have I seen security personnel act in the manner. In addition, he was letting in multiple people into the bar without checking their IDs.Steer clear of this bar and their terrible "security" staff.

This place was PACKED inside and outside. It was so hot inside I feared heat stroke was a possibility. I'm not sure what their capacity is but it was definitely a sardine experience. Perhaps I judge other bartenders more closely since I dated one. I respect a good one when I have the pleasure of coming across one. It's like a needle in a haystack and you appreciate it all the more. Don't get me wrong, it's a delicate profession in my book. You must be a jack of all trades in personality, knowledge, experience, and skill. I also don't expect perfection at every drinking establishment either. The gentleman here...was a drunken, sloppy, disheveled mess. When I come up to your bar and order 6 shots, it means give me 6 shots--not 5 uneven poured shots and an empty cup. When I order a basic drink and you can't prepare it? We have a problem. Would I come here again? Yes, it was busy and I like busy. I can cage dance? Cool! Two things: limit employee drinking on shift and don't let people loiter outside.

Here is a step by step guide to getting kicked out of the Fat Toad.1. Get invited there on a weeknight by a somewhat pretty girl who is in good with the staff and is offering free beer. Accept the offer.2. Talk to aforementioned girl for roughly twenty minutes. Be mild-mannered, ask her about her major, her passions, and her work primarily. Do nothing else.3. Two minutes after said girl goes to bathroom with friend, be tapped on the shoulder by the bouncer to follow him to the front.4. Be kicked out. Ask for an explanation if you would like, but the bouncer will apologize sincerely because he does not have one to give. Ask what you did, but he will not know. Ask how you were identified, and he will tell you that the owner, who wasn't there, texted him to boot the guy in the denim jacket, due to an unspecified problem. If you aren't interested in that, but are perhaps interested in or enjoy such things as losing your shoes due to the sticky floor, exercising your biceps trying to wave down the bartenders, watching "hawt" girls "dance" in cages, or spilling all of your drink between getting it from the bar and making it to your table due to the cramped jostling of bodies akin to a packed pit at a concert, then the Fat Toad might be the place for you!

Located right next to the Bourbon Theater, this is a popular spot downtown. Drink prices and selection are on par for most of the other places. Not spectacular, but not bad by any means.

We got there before the dj started so it wasn't that busy. The bartender was friendly and helpful. My friends and I were having a great time until my male friend started jumping up and down on the dance floor. Bar security tackled him and had him pinned on the ground for this. When our female friend tried to come help him, she was choked up against the wall. The guy was very upset by this, but was still polite to the staff, using please and thank you and just asking to pay his tab and go home. After he was outside he was tackled again and the police were called. Someone else there heard the group of bouncers say there are no cameras on the dance floor, so they're good. If you value your well being, don't step foot in this bar!

Employees are kind with drinks coming to too in a hurry for how busy it gets. Best place in downtown for a good time.

Ruben is the most fantastic bartender i have ever had. He engaged in conversation, and he was very generous with shots. If you treat this dude with respect he will give it back. Absolute beast. 10/10 recommend. Go to the fat toad and meet Ruben and you will not regret it. Fantastic guy and fantastic vibe. I will be coming here again.

I love this place!!!!!! When me and my LaDiEz are done having our usual Saturday night pillow fight in our underwear with wine spritzers, we ALWAYS say, "omg, now let's go get danced on without our consent by Lincoln's drunkest guys!" The Fat Toad never disappoints. We are usually disrespected within 5-10 minutes of walking in the door. Wow!!! What service! I recommend this establishment to all the LaDiEz out there looking for a fun weekend night without good conversation (it's too loud for that, silly!) or good friends (you'll get separated almost immediately because it's so packed ha ha!). Pro tip: Don't go during the week. There won't be any boiz to grind on u!!!
