The Drinkery

I wasn't sure what to expect when I got invited out to this bar. Some might call it a dive, but it's more than that. Theres games, pull tabs, sports, karaoke, food and of course drinks.The checkered floor is reminiscent of some dives I went to in college, but over halloween weekend this place was PACKED! I was't expecting shoulder to shoulder people in costume no less. There were a couple birthday parties as well and it was busy! The bar staff did a good job getting our orders and coming back to our table through ought the night. The food was decent, burger an fries for us and it was cooked well and fries were hot and good!I loved the DJ they had playing, super fun vibes

Food quality is a waste of money drinks are iced down customer service is more for the regulars that go there. If you are new to the area I'd Recommend downtown or out west for a good time be warned. And happy living

Fun place to meet up with friends! Friendly staff, nice selection of draft beer and some top shelf liquor, great bar food, live bands and very nice outdoor patio!

The Drinkery! Good ol' Dr. Jack's. I have been coming through the side doors here since coming back to Omaha. they have a DJ that will play almost anything you want to hear. They got rid of big buck hunter which is a stupid game anyways. They have pool tables and Giant Jenga.My favorite thing is the $1 mystery beer. It could be absolute shit, or it could be the last bit of a great keg. that's the fun!Minus a 1/2 star for the stripper pole, though.

The drinks are cheap, which is definitely a plus, & they have pool tables that are in their own section of the bar so you're not fighting for space to wield your pool cue. The bar itself is huge with enough space for everyone to grab a stool in addition to generous table seating. You could come with a small group & easily find a place to camp out for the evening. The smoking area is enormous & equipped with outdoor space heaters which are awesome in the winter. It's always appreciated when you can take your drink outside with you for a breath of "fresh" air. While the interior is fairly large, the dance floor right in front of the stage is pretty small. I have seen people push tables further back & create more grooving space though, so the space can be manipulated to suit the mood of the room. And finally, the "rules of entry" are hard to nail down. Usually if there's a band playing, patrons have to pay at the door. BUT sometimes if customers know an employee who is working - or claim they're not there to listen to the music - they can get away without paying the cover. While that's great for those who get in for free, it's really frustrating for everyone else who paid for entry when a bunch of others didn't. & from chatting with a few people who have played in bands at this venue, I've discovered that this selective enforcement of the cover fee can lead to bands getting measly pay-outs after their shows even if they packed the room & the bar was slinging drinks all night. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying for entry if I'm supporting a musician or artist. But it is admittedly disappointing to discover that they can get stiffed at the end of the night because of some diluted nepotism happening at the door. Verdict: It's not the worst place to end up for a drink, but it's definitely not a preferable one either.

Affiliated with the tattoo shop on the opposite end of the strip... The Drinkery is a great place for a reasonably priced drink and live music on the weekends (also Thursdays outside on the patio spring & summer).
