The Downtowner Casual Cafe

Been here twice now. Lunch and now breakfast. Excellent both times. Relaxing setting, friendly and prompt service with a good tasting meal. Plenty of good choices for breakfast and the portions are just right. It's been a while since I had lunch here but I remember it was equally as good. We don't live in the area but when we can we will visit again.

Excellent service great food very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. There's plenty of parking in front I am going to recommend the Philly skillet and they serve breakfast all day I'm giving them 5

The DT is the, place 2 B!! I got the burger with fries, sans the pattie. To die for.... Basically I have high Colestoral so burgers are no longer my thang, but hey, i did it for the vibes. in the end the grilled cheese was delicious, but the napkins were 1 ply. 4.5/5

What can I say about the Downtowner that was different from my last review? It was BUSY! I was so happy to see all the people enjoying their breakfast along with lots of wait staff! So different than a few months ago. All friendly, warm and smiling faces and great service! As soon as we ordered, the food was there lol! For me a Farmer's Omelet and Dave's usual scrambled with hash browns and crisp bacon. There is always somebody pouring coffee and it reminds me of the bagel places in Delray Beach. So glad we spent an extra day on beautiful Nebraska City, with its quaint downtown and abundant apple farms!So happy to support the local businesses!

I didn't take photos this time but I had the All American burger and my mother had the BLT. We cut them in half and shared. As always it was FABULOUS!! We have been here several times and have never been disappointed!!Always quality food and nice servers!

What a great restaurant in a really beautiful city! The recently deceased owner was of Greek heritage and his restaurant serves the finest gyros, with his homemade Tzatziki sauce, that you have ever eaten!The place was packed on Saturday for lunch and we asked someone who was just leaving if "the food was good?" and her answer was that she drives up from Kansas monthly to eat there!

We decided we were definitely not going to pay the price the lodge we were staying wanted for breakfast. ($8.00 for a bowl of oatmeal?? Gimme a break.) So, we checked around and found the Downtowner. For just a little more than the $8 oatmeal bowl, we had a breakfast fit for a king. Eggs were perfectly cooked, and I'm particular about my eggs. I've had better biscuits and gravy but I don't remember when. Excellent hashbrowns. They had a nice selection of breakfast choices. The waitress was quick, and friendly. It's a nice, clean place to eat and quiet. Highly recommended.
