I don't know if I'm lucky or unlucky in not knowing about this spot when I lived in the Old Market. I stumbled upon a TikTok of a girl getting what looked to be the sandwich of my dreams, and I was surprised to find out it came from a little deli next to La Buvette, one of my favorite spots in the Old Market. My husband and I were downtown for lunch, and I knew I had to stop by. The menu is VERY limited; there are only two to three sandwiches everyday and a few soups. I decided to order the mozzarella, tomatoes, arugula, and balsamic sandwich and he tried the mortadella with dijon. My sandwich came cold and his was hot, but both were served on the most delicious focaccia bread with flaky sea salt. I was in heaven. There is very limited seating, but the shop as a whole was very cute. There are some specialty meats, cheeses, drinks, and other food goods available for purchase, too. Everyone working was very kind and helpful. This is a must visit if you are a sandwich lover!

This shop is now named the Delicatessen of Buvette. It's right next to La Buvette restaurant in the Old Market.THIS is where you come to buy the AMAZING sourdough bread that they serve there.I was at an art event once featured a prominent German photographer. During his gallery talk, he jubilantly exclaimed that he LOVES coming to Omaha, that the Buvette sourdough is THE BEST in the WORLD!I agree. And the really great thing is that they will make amazing sandwiches from it. There is a chalkboard menu listing their sandwiches each day. There are usually 3 different rotating choices. It is enough, I usually have trouble deciding which one to get even with that small menu. The flavors are amazing and the ingredients are fresh and high-quality. I'm going to say that these might be the best sandwiches in the world. Most of the sandwiches are made on this AMAZING house-made focaccia bread. Literally the only thing that makes me sad here is that sometimes they run out of focaccia and ask if they can make it using baguette instead. Their baguettes are amazing as well but personally I don't like them as sandwich bread. So in that event I usually get the soup instead. Their soups are delicious so it's not that big of a problem,Seating is very limited, with a tiny table inside and a couple outside, so you will probably have to find somewhere else to sit and enjoy your lunch,There are deli items, pickles and olives, desserts, and some specialty grocery items available,Staff there are lovely as well and I always feel happy when I visit.Oh, and this - you know how I said these are probably the best sandwiches in the world? One might expect these would be a premium price. I am delighted to tell you that $7.98 will get you one of these amazing things. They are large and satisfying. It is an incredibly good value. I come here often!

I heard this place had really good sandwiches for $7 so I had to check it out. It's in the heart of Old Market but easy to miss as I've walked by many times and not noticed it. There's no seating as this is not a restaurant/deli, just a regular deli where you can grab a sandwich. There's lots of ready to eat, pre-prepared items, as well as cold meats, cheese, and everything you'd expect to find in a high end deli. The sandwich special of the day of my visit was mortadella. The bread was heavenly and the cole slaw gave it a bit of a Reuben feel. It turns out everything you read on the Internet isn't true and the sandwich was $12.49, not $7. The meatballs and pasta dishes looked wonderful, so I'll definitely be back to check out a few more dishes.

I stopped in to grab a sandwich- definitely a little hidden and was a little concerned no one was there with a lot of foot traffic outside- but the shop was very nice and had some good looking grocery items. I grabbed a ham and cheese sandwich to eat later- a few hours later it still tasted very fresh and had wonderful flavor. I highly recommend for a sandwich or fancy grocery items.

Not really a deli per se...just not terribly excited by what they had to offer. Bread selection is very good though...

I just discovered this deli yesterday. The sandwich was delicious --- but small. Some were saying the prices are good but I disagree. The sandwich was $7.95 and it was at best a third the size of a sandwich at Star Deli that you would pay $12 for a full size sandwich on a whole baguette. Also a small container of soup at $4.95 was touted as $2 cheaper than Panera but the cups there are larger. When I finished my sandwich I was still hungry. I will be back because the sandwich yesterday, a turkey and cheese was as I said delicious. You could make them bigger -- just a thought

Great sandwiches and outstanding baked goods coupled with friendly, welcoming staff make this the perfect place to grab lunch in the Old Market. The abundance of exotic grocery items and the vast selection of deli meats and cheeses solidifies its place in my top 5 favorite places in Omaha! Jess, Hannah, and Alyssa do a spectacular job of making everyone that walks through the door feel at home.
