While traveling through town and on our way home from a trip my son and I wanted to find a local diner or restaurant for breakfast on a Sunday at about 10 am. I found this place on Yelp and saw the pretty bad reviews but I always prefer to see for myself and give small businesses a chance. We walked in and got a table. There was an older gentleman who was super polite and helpful but that's pretty much the only good thing about our experience. He told us a waitress would be by and got our drink order. The drinks and the waitress didn't stop by for another 25 minutes when he walked by and noticed the waitress hadn't helped us he got her and got us our drinks. After a while longer the waitress came and took our order. We waited 45 minutes total and never got our food and since we were hungry and anxious to get home we offered to pay for our drinks and left. The restaurant was steady but not super busy so I don't know what happened but we will never be back and I would strongly suggest avoiding it if your ever in Red Oak.

I didn't want to wait 1 hour for a burger at the Red Robin off of 144th and saw this bar saloon nearby called the Cove. When you walk in, it looks like a lounge bar but I took a look at the menu and decided to give them a chance. The kitchen staff is not large and it took 20 minutes before the food came out with 3 tables of people in the facility. The bacon burger was average in taste but the wings were outstanding especially with the gochujang sauce, which was ordered separate on the side. We were periodically checked on during the next 30 minutes. Overall, a decent experience but would not order a burger next time. The live music didn't help the ambiance since the guitarist didn't have a vocal range to sing Elton John songs.

I read the reviews about white people at the cove and laughed so I decided to check it out for myself. I counted at least 5 minorities that I could visibly tell. Possibly 2 more for a possible total of 8 (because of yours truly); there was about 40 people here so that's almost 1/4. That's pretty good for a bar that's located west of 90th St in Omaha. The song playing when I walked in was Big Sean "I don't f@&k with you". If it was a country song, I would've considered leaving before really coming in. Beer selection was decent, as was the liquor. I asked for crown and they had plenty of it (Apple, peach, maple and reserve) so that's a big + in my book. There wasn't any PBR on tap, another plus. I ordered some chili cheese tots and asked for fries instead. They obliged and they were great! I always like checking out the bathrooms cause when you gotta drop a bomb, it's nice to know if it's safe. These were good bathrooms, a bit dark, but maybe it's better that way so people can't identify who left the nasty smell. My one complaint is the toilet paper. I like mine softer. It's a sports bar, so college football games are on and there's darts, golden tee, pool and shuffleboard (which a white person did teach me to play). Wait, another minority walked in, I feel good about this place

I wish I could give less than 1 star. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, but especially to people of color. Me and a friend had the most awful interaction with the manager Adam, a bartender, & a bouncer whose names they refused to give. I was accused of using a fake id (even after showing a bank card to match the name), called "aggressive", and denied service simply because I was black. I'm a bartender myself and I would NEVER treat paying customers the way that we were treated last night. Completely unacceptable.

This is a clean bar, with lots of seating and a nice outdoor patio area with a beautiful view of the Lowe's parking lot. Our waitress was kind, but definitely not attentive. She seemed a little too preoccupied with the one table inside to keep up on our drinks and collect our credit card after we set it down for payment. There were two occasions that I was sitting there for so long after our drinks were empty that I had to go inside and find her and she was usually talking to some friends at the bar. The place was pretty much empty. Not really any excuse for that lack of service in this situation. My husband comes here for drinks after work on occasion and I know he enjoys it, but I don't know that I will ever come back.

Decided on take out last night as I had a gift card to use and haven't been able to go in person. Pre-Covid we would come here for drinks but have never tried their food. I asked for my order to be ready at 530 and as I walked in the door at 531 my order was bagged and waiting for me. We ordered wings, a cheeseburger and Philly. The wings were amazing and still crispy when we got home. They also have the good ranch. Our sandwiches were delicious and the hand cut fries were amazing! The staff was helpful and didn't mind special requests for our food. We will definitely be back!

My dad and I have come to this place I don't know how many times. Adam is just the nicest guy you could ever get. This was my and my dad's favorite spot before he passed away because of the friendly staff! However tonight both bartenders were absolutely rude and didn't want to serve anyone. They repeatedly asked customers to leave after 1 am even though they are supposed to be open until 2. Myself and many others in the parking lot were very discouraged at the treatment we received and ended up at a fine establishment that treated their guest appropriately without question. In my opinion this bar is one of the worst in Omaha aside from Adam. They must be hiring anyone without experience and those who don't care about anything but a paycheck. Your customers are what keeps you there and this staff chases people away. If I were a business or bar I would revaluate the people I hire because this isn't working for that bar. Not sure if both their names but they are both rude and lazy. I would like to see this bar go back to the friendly staff it used to but until both the women that were working tonight are gone, I will not be returning. It's a joke coming with friends to get food and drinks and told "we won't serve you because it's too late" at 1am and plenty of people still there. All in all this rant I would suggest going anywhere but here. The union, lighthouse, Richie's, Tanners. Anywhere is better than this place solely based on customer service, unless Adam is working. Otherwise spend your money else where and it's cheaper.

I love The Cove! Staff is always friendly. Fun atmosphere! Love the option of sitting outside on the patio. Food is also good. Would highly recommend. Have never felt unsafe or staff inattentive. They are handling finding reliable staff the best they can during difficult times.

The servers and bartenders are great but the owner is a jerk. He served me a pitcher of beer with 2 inches oh head and told me that "There's supposed to be head." Total entitled jerk.
