I've been to the Capitol District a few times now since it started becoming more full of businesses, and I think it's a good area to check out a bunch of places at once, akin to The Old Market. It has a lot more newly opened establishments than the Old Market, so I'm not positive how long it will stay as hoppin' as it is now.I've been to a few bars and restaurants in The Capitol District, and most of them were great, and a few were pretty decent. My favorites are J. Gilberts (for a fancy dinner), Let It Fly (for a delicious burger), Moe and Curly's (for Karaoke), DJ's Dugout (to catch a game) and Roxxy (for a fun 80s/90s bar atmosphere). I've also been to Net Par for a golf Yelp event, Annie's Irish Pub on a pub crawl, and The Stuffed Olive for a drink and some stuffed olives. And I put those on my good-not-great list, for when I'm deciding where I'll go when I head back to the Capitol District. There are a few spots I haven't tried yet down in The Capitol District so I'll for sure be back to hit my favorites, and check out some new ones. I recommend heading down there and scoping it out for yourself and seeing which business you'd be interested in checking it out. Just like any mall or market, there will be hits and misses - but the gems you find will be worth it!

This is one of my favorite areas on Omaha. It's large outdoor area remind me of a diet power and light district, smaller, but with all the charm of a small town district. There is a vast majority of businesses like bar, restaurants, clubs, activites, and outdoor space to cater to a large audience. All year round there are events and programming, for the CD, or to add on to other downtown omaha activities. From Let it Fly, to Net Par, to the big screen during sporting events, there is so much to enjoy. Parking is also affordable and easy to get in the attached garage. All year round there is a reason to go to The Capitol District.

Oh my goodness! This place is just awesome. We were at an event for the signing of autographs from the 2 teams who will play for the Inaugural Women's Pro Volleyball Championship, The Grand Rapid Rise vs The Omaha Supernova's. They had merchandise we could buy and the courtyard has a water feature in the center with delicious places to eat all the way around it with a stage at one end for performers. We really enjoyed just hanging out listening to live music and people watching.

I've been to a couple of Nebraska football games here to watch on the big screen. Love the big screen! Nice that they have tables sitting around or you can bring your own lawn chair and sit. Just wish they had a better choice of food and drink during the game. Not a huge fan of the places that they have which is very limited and recently went to watch an 11:00 AM game. KETV had a segment the Friday before on their Welcome to the Weekend segment stating that the game once again would be on the big screen with many tables and even heaters at the tables which was certainly intriguing as it was supposed to be quite chilly for the first few hours. My friends and I arrived 30 minutes before the game to find not one table. They had all been stored away already and the igloos that you can rent had taken the place of all the tables. Security that was working there had no knowledge of any advertisement for the game so I was thankful we brought our lawn chairs which was kind of a bummer to eat in without a table. Not one heater in sight. Ended up getting a slice of pizza from the only place that was open down there which would not have been my first choice. Next time I will try to remember there is a new Kum and Go in the District which I could've went and got a cheaper slice of pizza from and perhaps enjoyed even more! Super poor planning.

A group of friends and I came out for the Halloween festivities at The Capitol District. It was pretty fun! Unfortunately both times I've been out to the Capitol District it was basically dead. Definitely didn't have the vibe I was looking for. You'd think with the set up (outdoor patio, the surrounding bars and big screens) it'd be a more happening place. Definitely disappointed.

Took the granddaughters on a pre-Christmas evening out to some fun downtown places in Omaha. They had fun dancing around up on the stage with the TV going on behind them. They enjoyed seeing the igloos and wanted to rent one. The district has a special backdrop set up for that special photo op, which would make for a great Christmas card for next year. At this time of year there's not much to do there, but it's a great place to take someone that's never been there!

I WOULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS IF I COULD. The security in this area are extremely disrespectful. I was ordering an Uber and standing outside of the bar. They kicked me out. I understand they have little control over the area. Their job is to push people into a bar to spend money or to leave. We simply wanted to get home safely instead of endangering the metro area. Apparently, that is grounds to get kicked out. I think this is a shitty facility benefiting off the drunken misfortune of others.

Bouncers at the Beer Can Alley were unnecessarily rude and condescending for absolutely no reason. Decided that THEY knew more about the state that I am from and pushed towards questioning me about my ID. After a long conversation of being rude and obnoxious, decided to let me in. I think not. They tried to charge me a cover fee. I would NEVER spend my money somewhere where the employees think that they are holier than thou just because they have a headset. I will NEVER go to the Capitol District ever again because of this. To be fair, I do need to renew my license as it is close to expiring and has a lot of miles on it from being used for a while, however there is no good reason that the bouncers should feel like they know better than the police. EVER. Ruined my experience in Omaha and at the Capitol District. None of the businesses in this area will get my business, not the Marriott or any other bar at this establishment.

Love Capital District :) All of the bars are fun - each different in their own way. Perfect place to go with friends.
