Average at best, appetizer came out burnt, entrée was lacking seasoning. Not much options in this town so it has that going for it. The plus was the waitress was friendly and attentive.

The black Crowes, an interesting place in Beatrice Nebraska more of an upscale restaurant with a separate bar to sit out, having been in both bar and booth for different times different meals I would definitely recommend the barThe brie appetizer is only half a wheel of brie with jam on the top. Serve with 6 to 8 Cristini's delicious, but not very much of it especially if you would expect the entire Brie slice. The cocktails here are the thing to rave about some of the most interesting and delicious cocktails ever The next time I went, we sat in a booth for a special event meal which nobody seem to care about was our special event. You're serve the wrong entrées then, by the time we got our entrées, they were cool, it best kind of glue it like consistency, not very appetizing . No apologies from the wet stuff whatsoever.

Decided to give it a try again after being underwhelmed after our initial experience in hopes that we experienced an off night. Nope. I ordered the beef tips special--the sauce and mushrooms were good, but the meat was leftover reheated steak, and the pasta was mushy--yuck! Completely ruined the dish. If I leftovers I'd stay home and eat. $23 for the dish+$5 for the salad. My husband ordered the top sirloin. It came with mashed potatoes and carrots that were insanely sweet. The steak came out so tough he couldn't chew it. They made him a new one, and that one was only little bit better, and he left half of it.-- "Market Price" for the dish which was $25! I guess the market price in Beatrice is far more than it is in any other Nebraska town. Our dining companion ordered the duck which came with the same sides as the steak. The duck was really good. It was also "Market price"--$32!!The service was very good, which earned them an additional star.

Overall experience was average with some less than average service. Good quality was also just average. We were a party of 4 and prices were typical for two prime ribs, a filet, and a ribeye. Arrived at 715 pm and were seated quickly. Water was provided upon seating and drink orders were taken quickly. Our server proved the daily specials and the we didn't see him again for over 30 minutes. Finally ordered our meal and appetizers close to 8pm. Drinks were refilled twice before food arrived 10 minutes before closing at 9pm. Only three meals were delivered and they were ok; the ribeye was heavily charred and very thin for the over $30 price. It was cooked properly but the char made it very tough. The ribeyes were ok as well but also smaller than what you get at other similar prices regional restaurantsNone of the food was hot off the grill and had been sitting for at least 5-10 minutes before being brought out.. The fourth meal was delivered after another 15 minutes after being told it had to be recooked after being dropped. It was very hot and obviously fresh off the grill. It was a filet which should be able to be cut with minimal effort. It was also heavily charred and tough to cut with blackened bacon wrapping. It was cooked in the middle as ordered. Sides could use use more seasoning as all st the table had to add salt to the mashed potatoes and meat. Service from server was slow but manager/owner was attentive and did comp a free dessert due to the wait on the fourth meal. It was delivered to the table to go as requested since at this point it was after 930 and we had been there for over 2 hours. Long story short, atmosphere is good and prices are comparable to other similar type places but service is slow.

We were on a road trip and friends recommended this place. So glad they did. The wait staff were attentive and friendly, gave great recommendations for wine, and the food was spectacular. We had the sirloin with goat cheese and spicy peanut oil and the ribeye with blue cheese and walnuts. All were perfect; so much so that I stopped the cook to tell him how good it was and thank him. We will definitely return!

An amazing restaurant in an unlikely place! We literally happened in during a trip to Lincoln and found Beatrice wasn't just a charming small town but had the best food and drink I've had since visiting Nebraska! Service was stellar and the owner seemed a fascinating person who had all the right ideas to keep this place top-rated! She personally mixed my special house manhattan type cock! Delicious! Our server, and Kate, did an outstanding job! You gotta go and then you will keep coming back!
