The Bar

Fun spot! I like coming here with friends to catch up, meet new people or just relax after a long week. It's a great place to people watch. Mostly a college crowd to those in their thirties. The indoor area is fairly small or it feels that way when it's full but they have a decent sized outdoor space/courtyard as well. The drinks are reasonably priced. No complaints. Overall I like and would recommend it!

I had not been to The Bar in more than a decade, I'm sure, before I stopped in for a drink after work this past summer. Place looked about the same, but smelled a lot cleaner. Plus $2 beer specials on bud products (which s includes Stella, who knew?).The bartender was very outgoing & nice as were all the twenty-somethings making there way in to play bucketball (yeah I'd never seen/heard of it either - think beer pong with 5 gal buckets & mini basketballs). While this probably won't be a regular haunt for me since I feel a bit old & out of place here anymore, it was fun to go back & see that The Bar is still taking it easy for all us sinners :-)

Chill spot. Super cheap drinks in comparison to other places downtown.It says you have to have a longer review or or doesn't count so I'm just gonna fill this area with randomness until it lets me post it. Yep. That's enough. If you're thinking about going out... make it a bar night.

Unmatched it its "bar-ness". If you didn't like this place or the place didn't like you chances are you don't know how to act in a bar. This is a favorite among industry folks and that hits me just right.

A number of local hot-shots were here on my last visit. It was the night of a Husker victory, and a friend of mine had dragged out of my hole-in-the-wall bar to accompany him to The Bar. The line was long and cold, but the clientele was hot...it appeared that most of the women had freshly bleached their hair, just for their night at The Bar. These are the women of the Big XII. I situated myself at a stool by the pool table, my eyes on the hottest girl in the bar, waiting for her to come talk to me...but then what should happen but she is approached by the middle linebacker for the Bucs and falls headlong into conversation. An urge to drink surged up in me, but luckily the bar was too crowded and so I sat patiently and received several old friends for conversation. My advice is to get out of here before last call, because things can get sloppy. I only come here twice a year...if I knew this place any better, I would probably rate it much lower.

American as shit. Best bar in Lincoln. Ask for the camtimamerica drink

If you didn't go the University of Nebraska (in the last 10 years), you've probably never heard of The Bar. It's changed a bit through change in ownership, but it's the prime location for the UNL college bar experience. It has a the best beer garden in Lincoln, so be sure to check this place out during warmer days. It's a place where everyone knows each other, so you may feel out of place...But if you're a young-working professional who wants to relive the glory days, stop in for a pint. Prices are moderate, and cheap compared to larger cities. It's not your typical Affliction-dbag crowd, be prepared to see lots of fratdaddies in Polo and girls in dresses. Try a Glove or a Mondale, they're fantastic.

The workers here are really rude and do NOT help out customers. They kick people out 20 minutes before close and tell them that they "don't want to see them again." I have only had horrible experiences in my 10 times of being here and refuse to give them anymore service. Hope they can stay open with their terrible service!

As a driven, independent-thinking and self-respecting woman, this is my favorite spot. It's close to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's City Campus, which means it's always overflowing with fraternity members and student athletes who talk down to me and drop predictable lines on me. I just love it!!!! Right when I walk in, a bunch of guys in backwards baseball caps and polos approach and ask if "I come here often." Wow! So great to meet them.I would recommend this bar to all of my self-respecting lady friends looking for some guys to insult her for a few hours while she drinks beer that tastes like urine and listens to people talk Greek politics!!! Oh, and there are basketball hoops. ;)

If I could give it zero stars I would.. rude doorman, rude bartender. Terrible service when there were only five people. Expensive, watered down drinks. Bad music. Bad atmosphere. I have been to almost every bar in downtown lincoln and this is by far the worst. Spend your money elsewhere.
