Descendents!
The front of The Admiral (they kept the historical Sokol Auditorium name below)
a large group of people sitting in chairs
Burning Spear
The entrance, unchanged except the marquee
The large bar area to the right of the stage/seating area
Stage is a nice size, high ceiling for sets, which is nice because the lights aren't pointed at the audience's faces

Ohhh the good ol' Sokol, renamed to The Admiral for some reason. Not sure why they wanted to just throw away a name synonymous with amazing concerts, but either way, it's a great place to see a show.I've been coming here for years and have seen countless concerts at this venue and it's always a treat. It's a smaller venue with a balcony but anywhere you are, you have a great view of the stage. I went to the Admiral the other night to see The Mars Volta, which was an amazing show.Since rebranding, the bathrooms have appeared to have been spruced up a bit, which was nice to see.All in all, this is a great music venue that I will go to for years to come.

Once the old Sokol auditorium, it's now the Admiral. The new layout is a nice improvement, even if I miss the basement,The bar is now plural. There's a full bar upstairs and downstairs. Tried and enjoyed both. Navigate through and find the upstairs bar. It's a great addition. The barkeeps are good at their jobs, the drinks are tasty and the price is reasonable. The stage is the same, from the audience side. If you liked Sokol, you'll like The Admiral.

I love that a lot of the charm was retained here when this building was renovated. Saw a lot of shows here starting in the 1980s. It was always a cool place, but it's a little better for the audience and performers now.The bathrooms are a huge improvement. I am so glad that bathroom design in the past 3 or 4 years has improved, apparently people who design public restrooms have actually used a public restroom. There isn't a couch in the ladies sitting room anymore, as there isn't a sitting room.As another reviewer pointed out, the sound is a little off. The songs sounded great and I didn't notice a problem with the vocals. But when the singer was speaking using the same setup, I couldn't understand a thing she was saying. I could hear that she was talking but it sounded like a made-up language. Very odd.The parking is awful of course. Mainly in neighborhood streets which are not well-lit and not convenient for walking. Parking needs were different when the place was built nearly 100 years ago, so there's just not as much space for it as there would be for a new venue.Capacity is 1,500; it's a nice size for a lot of acts that are really good but aren't popular enough yet for a larger space.

The Admiral used to be The Sokol, but changed ownership in about 2021. They also, thankfully, made several upgrades to the space. The Admiral now has tables upstairs (where before had only been bleachers), a large/redone bar area that is way more open (and great bartenders!), and best of all - air conditioning! It could get very hot in there during summer, but I just attended a show there tonight (when it was 99 degrees outside) and the air conditioning was working beautifully! The acoustics and sound are pretty good for comedy acts and more acousticy bands, but when the music gets a lot louder, the singer/lyrics can get a little drowned out. I think that's the only negative thing I've noticed. With the upgrades they've made from the Sokol days, I'd say definitely check this place out to see the new digs!

We attended Groundhog Prom at the newly transformed Admiral Auditorium (formerly Sokol Hall). The event was sold out but the auditorium, with its impressive capacity, comfortably accommodated the crowd. We loved all the updates! The addition of a gorgeous, expansive bar at the north end, where the gym used to be, was a huge improvement. It not only enhanced the aesthetics but also added a touch of modernity to the space. The chandelier is still there - nice nostalgic touch. The balcony area turned out to be the highlight of the remodel. The new built-out bar along the east wall with windows offered a nice view and added to the overall ambiance. While I'm no audiophile, I noticed a more balanced and less boomy sound. I think they also installed a new sound system. A minor disappointment was the closure of the basement area, preventing two bands from performing simultaneously. Despite this change, the overall experience was positive. Finding parking continues to be a pain. Despite this, The Admiral remains a gem in Omaha.

First time coming here. Saw The Struts/Mac Saturn.Great show. Can't do a comparison to what it use to be called and was like before the upgrades. But this is a very nice theater to see a concert at.Nice big bar area. Parking around the area isn't the greatest, since you're only options are residential side street parking.Acoustics are nice but sometimes vocals will get drowned out. And the staff are very friendly.

Went to a reserved seating show last night and saw the place for the first time since renovation. I was majorly impressed. It used to look so run down, and now it's literally a showpiece. A few minor drawbacks. First, the men's bathroom. I don't know if there is more than one, but the one by the bar is so tiny it can only accommodate 2 at a time, and if another tries to get in, he blocks the others from being able to get out. Maybe there are more and I just couldn't find them. Second, the seating was so tight. When I got to my seat, the people next to me had already flowed onto my seat, then when the person on the other side of me arrived, she and I had to fight for the limited space left. Couldn't even lift my arms up to applaud. Some people were moving chairs into the aisles, but then that was blocking movement. I appreciate wanting to make a buck, but people gotta move. Other than that, the usual bitching about parking...Lots of opportunities for neighboring businesses to make some easy cash selling spots, but no one was. Planning on another visit soon, so may have to update. This time bought a seat in the balcony.
