Tanner's Bar & Grill - Omaha

This is a decent Tanner's location. The chicken "lips", burgers, tots and fries are their strong suit. Today I made the mistake of straying into their Mexican offerings. I had the chicken taco special. It was pretty bad. They use ground chicken, which is not to my taste. I should have known better. The salsa is also pretty bad. Oh, and the chocolate cake, also not good. They drizzle Hershey's chocolate syrup over it for some reason which makes it extra bad.So why 3 stars? They have a very personable server in Rain. She made our dining experience fun. That counts for lot in my book. Also, this bad lunch was partially my fault. Tanner's does fried bar food well. Go off the beaten path at your own peril.

Want to wait hours for your food? This is the place to go! We were here for 2 hours before we got served. We complained to the manager, and the only thing she could do was point out when our order got placed...which was an hour after we sat down. They only offered a 20% discount. Needless to say, we will never be back.

We ended up at Tanners when the place we wanted to go to was closed. Large bar with lots of tvs for sports. We got the wings and a pork tenderloin. The wings were okay, however 3 of the 10 took char buffed to a new level and we're completely charcoal - burnt beyond edible. The tenderloin was good, the only compliant was after having pretty slow service all night, when the waitress asked if we were ready for the ticket and we said yes, she whipped all of the food up before I could stop her. So I guess I won't finish the half of my food that was still on my plate? I was able to grab back my unfinished beer at least! Might be worth a second chance, but will likely be the same situation - not a place we plan to go to but a place we end up at if our first choice isn't available.

Low Yelp ratings from previous Yelpers at Tanners Bar and Grill. The former location was a Twin Peaks restaurant where I really liked their chicken fried steak recipe. Seating is pretty open, sit where you want concept. I picked a booth. Tap beer prices are very reasonable but be wary of ordering wings and getting a fifty cent wing sauce charge, never heard of this from local vendors. The chicken Philly sandwich was average in presentation and taste. I had to use the spicy wing sauce to give it a stronger flavor taste. My side salad was average, bacon bits were too hard, felt as if I was biting hard particles when consuming the salad. The service was very good though, wish there was a balance of the service and food quality. Overall, a nice place to catch a sporting event and have bar food available. I wish there was a hot dish that was unique that would cause me to visit more often.

Surely this is the nicest most up to date tanners in town...came in during March madness and it was a full house but still very fun. We were served quickly and efficiently. Great staff and great crowd. Definitely a fun spot for games.

This place is great for service watching games and the food. Bonnie welcomed us in on our first night in town with great service and a great smile. We came for the basketball games and drinks and comfortable bar stools and Bonnie. We came back every night as we are from out of town working. On Wednesday night we came in and Bonnie took care of us for the first half of our visist then she had to leave. Then we had Matt. We thought Matt was ok but later we found out that Matt lied to us on how we were tipping the bartenders that had left saying he would share the tips and that was never the case. I would not give Matt any extra money for tips.

Zero stars!! Been coming to Tanners for years and everything has gone down hill! Several staff members stand around in a corner chatting, drinking and looking at their phones while people wait to be greeted!! They don't put down coasters for your drinks, they don't notice when your drink is low.... My husband food was cold. The GM walked through with his cigarette to grab an ashtray for is outside table.

Not good at all & service was terribly slow. Workers seemed more interested on being on their phones or visiting with their friends.

We stopped going there a few months ago because of poor bartending service. Went back to give it another shot. We are sorry that we did. It's gotten worse. Weak drinks and the bartenders had a bit of an attitude. Finished our drinks and walked across the parking lot to another pub. What a difference.

Rain at the bar was nice but the food only so-so. Ordered the Lips wrap and 'upgraded' from the "bountiful French fries or tater tots" to the onion rings and got 6 rubbery onion rings for $2.49. TOTALLY not worth the supposed upgrade. Don't be fooled.
