I can't or maybe I can believe it's taken me this long to write a review about one of my and my family's favorite Chinese restaurants in #HOmaha. It prob ties w/ Blue and Fly, but this one is a tad bit closer to where we live and right next to lifetime gym so when we stop by there for some indoor swimming we grab some dinner there after. It's also next to Crumbl, which we used to hit up before we cut back due to my husband being pre-diabetic! Yikes!Anyways they are always so welcoming, friendly and sweet. Recognizes us every time probably b/c my children aka little terrors stand out but they never make it seem like we (nor our kids) are a bother. In fact they humor them and give them pieces of candy/lollipop at every visit. What's also nice is they have a kids menu which my kids love in addition to their delicious egg drop soup. Oh and going back to what a nice little family ran business this is. One time we were there with a disgruntled and unfair customer and they were so professional about the situation and made the rest of us feel safe. Hopefully that one guy will have bad karma forever for messing w/ the wrong restaurant family! if you love Chinese and looking for something as good as blue and fly but on the other side of town, please come give them a try! I would love to see every table full the next time we stop by b/c they deserve it!

I would call this restaurant a decent middle-of-the-line Asian spot. The service and ambiance are very much an authentic Chinese restaurant experience--no complaints here. The menu is HUGE and had so many good looking options! Ultimately I wish I had ordered something else because I think I would have enjoyed a non-fried item better. This dish wasn't bad, but it was served warm not hot, and I wish there had been more sauce to it. The flavor was spicy as indicated on the menu, and there was 0 spice involved--although it smelled a little spicy at first. The egg drop soup and steamed rice were standard--no complaints. If I return I'll get a non-fried dish and based on the look of those would likely have a better experience.

I had a wonderful meal and evening at this restaurant about 2 weeks ago! We were a party of about 10 people. Everything came out as ordered, hot and delicious. Portions were plentiful (we all took some home) and the waitstaff was extremely accommodating. They allowed us to sit for quite some time visiting even after the meal was over. The restaurant was busy but thankfully it was obvious that our table was not needed for another party. I would definitely go back!

Tried the carry out again last night. Basically average. We had 3 entrees and 1 order of Rangoon's which made the total food cost of $57. plus they recommended a minimum $10+ tip on top of that which made a fairly expensive carry out dinner for 3 people. The Crispy Chicken was tasty but halfway between soggy and crispy. The pepper steak was basically steak, peppers, and onions in a very very small amount of a gravy sauce. You used to get 3 or 4 pieces of fresh broccoli with it and a few other things mixed in with the onions and peppers. The Kung Pao chicken was pretty bland, not near as tasty as it used to be. The Rangoons were good. The steamed rice was good but the fried rice seemed to be steamed rice with some very tiny very few pieces of scrambled egg mixed in nothing else at all. All in all the food was average, the portions smaller, the ingredients really thinned out from what they used to be and the prices significantly higher.

Something has been off. It's been a while since the last time I tried Taipei. Thought I would give it another shot. We ordered three dishes and all three dishes were not quite up to par. The temperature was good and the portions were a nice size. But, even the fried rice was not quite it. Basically it was white rice that had a few flecks of egg sprinkled around. This restaurant used to be top-notch a number of years ago. It's not been quite right since new ownership. I'm very disappointed, knowing what the quality used to be.

Service was excellent, watching the three servers work the room was interesting. The appetizer won-tons were good, but the spicy mustard was great! You could taste the horseradish burning through. I had the Taipei Delicacy, beef, chicken & shrimp with snow peas, water chestnuts & bell peppers. While very well done, did not make it to the spicy rating. The SO had an alleged fan favorite Peanut Butter Chicken, while also well made, a bit heavy on the peanut butter. Going back soon for Moo Shi & General Chicken.

Eatable Chinese. The name Taipei is a bit misleading as they don't really serve Taiwanese food. Their fried rice is basically white rice with some tiny egg pieces in it. I think Panda Express across the street is probably better and cheaper.

I would not recommend eating here. The service is slow and when you do get your food it is cold. When I said it was cold they told me they would warm it up. Not acceptable. It came back with warmed sauce and cold veggies and chicken. The manager/ owner never came to the table and put it on the server to tell me I had to pay for the meal since I'd eaten a couple bites to determine if it was just rewarmed. So since I was hungry- I had to pay for an additional entree of chicken fried rice which was hot but overcooked in retaliation for sending my food back. With tip I paid $40 for a disappointing meal! Also - it appears they serve the take out orders before the people in the restaurant. This is most likely why me and my friend's food was barely warm. It sat in the counter in the kitchen waiting until the one server helped an entire restaurant with taking orders and delivering food. It took nearly 90 minutes to have a disappointing meal here. I will not be returning to this establishment.
