Well, this place is a unique experience. They have a hotel that dates back to the early 1900's. The hotel has about 10 rooms with a community bathroom. The rooms are very small with single double bed and a sink in the room. The hotel is a little on the grungy and outdated side. The resort includes a camping and rv park, a nice retro roller skating rink, a miniature golf course, a to rent church, and a couple small cabins, dance hall, and gathering spots. Sycamore also has a couple natural springs on the grounds. It's a shame this place is in the state it currently is. You can tell this place was once one happening area. It used to have a large outdoor public pool, that is now closed and deteriorated. It is owned by an older couple that has a hard time keeping up with the large grounds and maintenance. You can tell they try their best, but it's a lot of work for 2 people no matter what age.The grounds here are very pretty with huge shade trees and lots of grass. It's a great place to have a family reunion, wedding, or large event. Here is the website to get a better look for yourself.http://www.ssresort.com/

New owners are bringing this beautiful park back to life! Strong family environment with kids running around everywhere. Roller skating, putt putt golf, wagon rides, retro park, tennis courts, volleyball nets, basketball court, splash park. They raise deer on the facility that is always full with babies to see. We camp but they offer their hotel and house through Airbnb. They are recently remodeled and look fantastic. Highly recommend you give this place a try! You won't regret it.

This is an awesome place! Quiet and beautiful! The owners are great, and this place means a lot to them. They have been acquainted with this property from a very early age. They put their love into this place! Their children and grandchildren help in taking care of this place.I seen a couple of bad reviews of this place, but I believe they were just critical people in general. I don't even believe that the issues they spoke about even affected their stay. This is a fun place: Roller Rink, tennis court, mini golf, hiking, play ground, RV parking, tenting section, cabin type buildings, an old hotel. This place is historical. This was a place for wagon trains to stop for the night back in 1886.... lots of sycamore trees for them to park under to keep cool in the day. There are also a couple of springs.....that are still very active today. People came for health reasons because of these mineral springs. They have an old church that was moved in here. Also, an old huge organ is in this church. The sound is awesome! An old church bell is located in front of the old church!A hotel was built in the 1880-1890's range with 60 rooms. It burned down in 1916 and a new hotel was built in its place in 1920....quite smaller though. This is the hotel that is presently standing today. It's almost 100 years old!Yes, there is a swimming pool here....but it is not open anymore. Before the present owners owned this property...some company had it.....and let it go down hill....and they went into bankruptcy....which took years to get that finalized. Present owners decided it would take too much money to fix it up....plus the cost of what all that the government requires.I've only mentioned a few things....there are plenty more out here! We were out here for almost a week! We've enjoyed every minute of it here. It is a country like feeling as it is out in the country!!!This is a great place for these things....things that already take place out here....things like reunions, weddings, company picnics, group skating parties, vacations, holiday camping....great family times together!!!!

My family had reservations for a cabin at this place for over a month for a special family reunion and this place gave away one of our cabins a few hours before we arrived. We had to spend our first night driving all over and phoning every motel and and inn in that area of rural KS and NE looking for a couple of rooms. Horrible customer service and not following though on a promise means we will never be staying at this resort and we're warning all of our friends and family not to reserve here again.

This place is chalked full of KS history. The operators are a wonderfully nice couple and will cater to your needs as much as possible. Wonderful quiet get away and the natural spring water is very yummy. I took my dog and camped along the stream and had a peaceful night while researching for a paper on KS historic springs.
