Sunrize Donuts

I have been coming here since I was little and to this day they are still my favorite donut place in Omaha! I love their wall of customer photos and their service is always on point! It smells so good when you come in and my kids are always excited for our Sunday visits!

My whole family loves this donut shop! My personal favorite here is the old fashioned! you definitely need to try one, it's the best I've had. The bakery itself is pretty pain inside, not a lot of decoration or ambiance going on. They have just a couple small tables inside and they have a bare bones coffee table. Not the kind of place you would go to catchup with friends or knock out some work while you use their WiFi. That doesn't really matter for me personally because the donuts are fantastic. Grab and go kinda place is fine! Everyone has always been friendly and helpful when we have stopped in.

OMG. I am a fan of donuts but this is my new go to spot in Omaha. They sell out for a reason! We had the blueberry, Oreo fluff, cinnamon twist and chocolate with peanut. Every single donut was so FRESH and delicious! There was a line out the door at 8:30 on Sunday--& I would wait in it every day! Everyone was super friendly and helpful answering any questions about their options.

I am absolutely a donut snob and hard to please. Donuts seem so simple to make yet most places miss the mark. I wasn't sure what to expect but had a good experience at Sunrize. I've had other Omaha establishments recommended to me, some were decent and others not so much. No one has recommended Sunrize but they should have, as it's as good or better than anything else I've had in the area so far.Edit: changing to 5 stars. Best donuts in Omaha, hands down.

This donut shop was close to my hotel, so I gave it a try. It's good. It's a standard old fashion donut shop with all of the favorites, filled long Johns, with custard or cream, jelly donuts, cake donut, yeast donuts, old fashioned, fritters, etc... This isn't one of the new trendy unique shops, it's just your standard made fresh daily donuts. The staff was nice and friendly and the prices are reasonable. I think I paid ~$7 for 5 donuts. This would be a great place to pick up donuts for a group! I sampled all of the donuts (jelly filled, cream filled maple icing, Apple fritter, old fashion glazed, and glazed yeast). They were all fresh and delicious, but nothing super unique.

Sunrize Donuts is dangerously close to our new house. Friendly, inexpensive, good selection, good donuts. So far we have had lemon and cherry-filled, pumpkin donut holes (seasonal), sprinkled cake -- all very good.Better than the chains and less expensive to boot.

I'd like to start with a note about the service. The staff was super helpful, I barely had to wait 15 seconds to be helped, despite there being someone in front of me. They had two available workers ready to start helping customers with donuts. It's a small thing but as a customer it goes along way (IMO). Onto the doughnuts: the old-fashioned was good, well-fried and not overly sweet. It was a little thicker in the middle than I'm used to, a great old-fashioned doughnut is fairly thin all the way across so it gets as many of those craters as possible. The dough itself for the old-fashioned was flavorful, I could taste some spices in there, perhaps nutmeg. I think this adds a lot to the flavor of the donut.We also tried vanilla glazed cake, glazed raised, and a glazed cinnamon roll. All tasty renditions.

I couldn't find the storefront . I finally gave up. When I inquired with some friends who live nearby, I was told the sign is very small and hidden by overgrown tree branches. I would suggest a larger sign and removal of those branches. It would certainly help increase business.

Yum! I would get donuts here everyday if I could. Both the donuts and the friendly customer service put the large chains to shame. The cherry filled are my favorite so far, but I plan on checking out there other varieties soon.

The donuts were dry and didn't have much flavor. The prices were shockingly low so that was nice. They had good stock levels considering it was 9am on a Monday. I doubt I'll be back.
