Stoner Drug

As old school as it gets. Genuine soda fountain. Malts, shakes, phosphates.Homemade chicken salad sandwich, very tasty. Barstools and booths. I got ruler here for 35 cents. What's not to love..

I've been driving by Hamburg Iowa for years and I finally decided to follow the temptation of the roadside advertisements for stoner drug. As soon as I pulled into town I felt depressed but I pressed on to find the local drugstore. I was expecting something magical like the ice cream shop in lemurs, Iowa but I was severely disappointed. it seemed like a drugstore from the 1990s with no plans on changing. I ordered a cinnamon roll and a coffee. it was fine considering the entire snack cost me two dollars. But the cinnamon roll tasted like something that could've been pulled out of a package at a convenience store and the same goes for the coffee. So if you're driving down I 29 and see signs for stoner drug go ahead and keep on trucking to the next gas station.

If you are traveling during the week this is a wonderful little stop. We tried cherry, orange, & chocolate phosphates. Cherry was our favorite. The malts & shakes are a must try also.

They have fancy signs on the highway, but please don't waste your time. Nothing here is worth stopping for. The food and drinks were mediocre at best. The best part of stopping is that you can shop in an outdated drugstore, but mind you, it's outdated because those items have all been languishing on the shelves for far too long. I really wanted to love it... sorely disappointed.

Stopped in here on a roadtrip and got a chocolate malt. Nothing tasted sweeter and felt more comforting after hours and hours in the car. I have fond memories of that place, and if you're passing through, DON'T pass up stopping there for a soda and a quick rest. It's completely worth it!

Wide variety of items here in this store. I stopped in to find a souvenir shot glass and they had a perfect selection.

I do love this little store in the cutest small town. Nothing "depressing" about it. Very kind people around town and just overall joyful workers. Great drinks. Fun little town to stop by!

Wonderful drug store with an old fashioned soda fountain.We ordered a vanilla ice cream soda and it was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly.
