Visited Stokes tonight, and I was pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the experience turned out! The casual, bustling atmosphere was perfect for a busy Friday night, and despite the crowd, we were seated quickly thanks to the restaurant's spacious layout. We started with the queso, which was creamy, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the meal. Then, I asked my server about the mango salmon, and she suggested a brilliant tweak--swap the potatoes for steamed vegetables. When a server gives thoughtful advice, I always take it, and this time it truly paid off. The salmon was perfectly cooked, with a light, flaky texture and a seasoning that paired beautifully with the sweet mango salsa. The seasoned vegetables were a perfect complement, making the whole dish a well-balanced delight. I'll definitely be ordering this again. My wife got the flautas, and the portion was enormous! The flavors were spot on, and the mole sauce was the clear star of the dish. The quality of food here is exceptional, especially for the value. Stokes absolutely delivered, and we'll be back soon for another great meal!

AMAZING! The somewhat cozy, dim lighting ..booth seating..beautifully decorated...was impressive! Our server Chelsea was excellent! She checked on us often (but wasn't annoying..lol) She immediately waited on us..I had a spicy jalapeño cucumber mule..with fresh cucumber and jalapeño...Dean had a blackberry spicy margarita with fresh fruit..refreshing and bursting with a crispy yummy feeling...We couldn't decide what to order so we decided to just "go for it" and order several appetizers and try a little of everything...why not? Life is short. We started out with chips and white queso dip topped with spicy chorizo...you gotta try it..it was hot, gooey and tasty....we had rolled chicken and black beans taquitos served with an amazing green salsa...we had Hellfire spicy beef sliders that were BOMB ...served with a crispy bacon wrapped jalapeño..if I wasn't allergic to pork we would have "thrown blow over it" ...we had blackened salmon sliders that were my favorite ..seasoned perfectly...oh our "do over" was the Mayan Chicken flatbread...it had the unique curry as the base, chicken, cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato... it was absolutely the best flatbread we have ever had! We had a cozy booth and enjoyed ourselves without feeling pressured or rushed out..Great experience for sure!

Food is basic, nothing really unique and it's really heavy food and very overpriced for the portion and what you get. Tables are big, but dirty, and the lighting is very dark.

I have been to Stokes many times but it's been a long time. Not sure why, because everytime I come here I am absolutely satisfied. Delicious margs, appetizers, food, everything is good. Service has always been quick and friendly. Literally have never had a bad time here. I ordered something different this time than the Aztec nachos that I'm obsessed with and I think I might have a new obsession. Sharon's Spicy Sister enchilada was AMAZING. It definitely has a kick to it so if you can't handle spice at all I would go for the original. Also got the house margarita and for a house it's delicious. We will be back again. Sooner than later this time.

My husband and I visited Stokes for our anniversary lunch recently, and as always, it was a fabulous meal!Stokes is owned by the same folks who run Taxi's, Stokin' Goat, and Twisted Fork - so you definitely know it will be high quality just walking in, especially with the warm and welcoming ambiance. To start off our wonderful experience, our server (Emily) was fantastic, giving great recommendations and making sure our food and drinks were to our liking. And she was cheery and helpful the entire time, even when the post-church lunch crowd started to roll in and they became pretty busy.We started with the Black Bean Taquitos, and they were superb. They are filled with sweet corn, beans, and are topped with cotija cheese. They come with a salsa verde for dipping, but I recommend also asking for a side of their ranch, as it's super delish to dip anything in!Emily also brought us some Inner Beauty sauce, which is a slightly sweet and spicy hot sauce, to try with our taquitos when she heard we like spicy with sweetness together. It definitely fit that bill, and was another great suggestion from Emily!I also had the Roasted Corn Chowder (I am a Nebraska girl and I unabashedly love my corn LOL). It was creamy, had a slight heat, and was very hearty and satisfying. We even dipped our taquitos in it, and it somehow did work well together! We visited right on the cusp of brunch and lunch, so my husband had the Hangover Burger. He was in heaven with the hash browns, egg, and candied bacon. One tip is to ask for your egg a little runny, as that melds with all the toppings so well and makes it a perfect 10/10. The burger came with beans and rice, which were both very flavorful just on their own, but even more elevated if you kind of mix them together. Yum!For my entree, I ordered the Tenderloin Medallions. They were perfectly cooked and came in a deliciously peppery red wine sauce, with divine garlic mashed potatoes, and mouthwateringly buttery seasonal veggies. My dish was supposed to have asparagus as the veggie side, but they were out, so the seasonal veggies were the replacement and I was SO happy with them. All the veggies were good but especially the little Brussels sprouts, that were SO buttery and expertly seasoned. Stokes has been around for a few decades and is always busy - and it's easy to see why! Super high quality, great atmosphere, and attentive service. Highly recommend for your next date night, brunch with friends, or when you just want a satisfying meal yourself.

Maybe you're thinking of Tex-Mex for dinner but want something a little more upscale than average. Stokes is probably your spot. On the more pricey side of Tex-Mex but their portions are huge, plus the happy hour deals are great! The wife and I went for happy our today to capitalize on the deals they had. We ended up going with the guac flight to share and we each got the steak and potato flat bread. I threw in a taco because I wasn't sure how big any of it would be. The guac and chips were pretty good! A little more spicy than the average guac. The brisket taco was okay. The pico, cheese and everything was fine, but the brisket was bland. Could have definitely used some salt and/or a sauce. The steak and potato flatbread was super dense. The flatbread itself was buttery and crispy, and the cheese, sauce, pico, and potatoes were all good... but the brisket still was a let down. Will probably stick with chips & dip if we end up getting an appetizer next time we come through.

The decor was interesting, lots to look at. Not exactly my kind of food joint. Interesting menu.

Enjoyed lunch with friends today. Pleasant server, even while five men dithered about whether to get chips and salsa or quac or queso. Dudes, make a call!Los Alamos chicken is nice. Could add a bit of heat, but maybe not with the shiitake mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes. It's a solid dish. My buddy's enchiladas looked excellent.Lots of great options on the menu, so definitely a place to check out, and the music was on point! If you like 70's classics like Elton John and Golden Earring, at least.

I recently came out to Stokes, for a friends birthday dinner, and my experience was a tale of two halves. The ambiance of the restaurant is undeniably fantastic - a warm, inviting atmosphere with tasteful decor that sets the stage for a delightful evening. The dim lighting and well-chosen music create a cozy vibe, making it an ideal spot for a casual night out. However, my enthusiasm took a slight dip when it came to the food. While the menu boasted a variety of options, I took a gamble on the New Mexico club. I'll be completely honest, the execution fell short of expectations. The taste was bland and I only ate half of the wrap before going back to eating the tortilla chips on the table. It lacked the bold flavors and authenticity that one would hope for the cost of a plate. It left me feeling like I had experienced a watered-down version of the vibrant flavors that this cuisine is known for. Moreover, the prices seemed to be a bit on the higher side, especially considering the quality of the dishes. While the ambiance was a definite highlight, the cost didn't quite align with the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Stokes offers a fantastic setting for a night out, making it an ideal place to gather with friends. However, if you're seeking an authentic and memorable culinary experience, you might want to explore other options in the area.

I haven't loved everything here just because I am not a huge Mexican food person. My favorite items have been the kokos salad with shrimp, and the tacos carbon (sub veggies for beans/rice). The enchiladas are amazing here--just not the best for lunch or a hot day!
