Went her on a whim after hiking at Hitchcock and was only disappointed by not being able to try their whole menu! I only got the gelato to go and regretting not trying more of the food on their menu! Only a seasonal place so when the weather warms up make a day trip to Crescent, IA and try it out for yourself!

Stanley's exceeds all expectations. This was my first visit and first time having goat milk gelato. I opted to try the chocolate. I also purchased the basil garlic and cranberry horseradish goat cheeses. All products are a must try! They also offer snacks and burgers which I will try next time. The only downside side is that they close end of October and won't be open again until April!

Great food, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. The burgers and pizzas are made to order so expect a bit of a wait, but you can enjoy the scenery in the meantime (we enjoyed a beautiful sunset). We had the special thai pizza, veggie pizza, trey burger, Angus burger, cheese sampler and snickerdoodle gelato. All were delicious. I thought the pizzas were really tasty with crispy crust and nice flavors from the toppings. The burgers were a hit, although cooked well-done so be aware if you usually like it more rare. The cheese sampler had a generous portion of cheese - great for sharing, served with toasted crostini. The smokey aleppo and cranberry horseradish were not spicy at all in our opinion. The lemon verbena was good. I think I'd prefer the cheese with fresh baguette but that's personal preference. I'll definitely come back and am sad this is a seasonal snack shack.

After Sharon gave us a tour of the goat farm, we headed to Stanley's Snack Shack for lunch. What a treat! Burgers from Sharon's cows and goat milk gelato for dessert. Everything was made fresh and was delicious! There is a covered area outside of the Shack where you can sit and enjoy your lunch in the fresh air and not worry about covid in a crowded restaurant. In addition, they are very environmentally friendly. At Stanley's they use recycled paper plates and boxes and the silverware is compostable! The goat cheese even comes in 50% post consumer recycled containers. Along with lunch, you can purchase gelato and cheese.

Definitely a great stop after a good hike! I Noticed this spot driving towards the hiking trails near by. Decided to stop on my way home and was so happy I did. Had one of the best patty melts Ive had in a long time. Also trying goat cheese gelato was a pleasant surprise. I went for the salted caramel vanilla which was very soft and delicious. I am now a fan of goat cheese gelato. Going back for the scramble next!

This is a real gem for those that do the weekend trip. On the old Historic Lincoln Highway sits Stanley's Snack Shack. An old converted cargo container now a wonderful place to stop for a treat. On a tip from one of wife's Facebook friend brought us here. Heck had we not seen Stanley's smiling face I think I would have missed it. The concept is for real farm to table. But I would call it farm to face, as there isn't much down time for any of the products. Salads, burgers, BLT's and quesadillas round out the menu. And Capretta Gelato....umm yum. My wife had the Roasted Goat Cheese Salad and by the looks of it, it looked amazing. Myself I opted for a non traditional burger, the Goat Cheese and Jam burger. This isn't what I would normally have, but this is a road trip! And to my delight, absolutely amazing. Homemade strawberry jam atop Goat Cheese stop fresh hamburger! This is one you have to taste to believe. I have to admit the place is a bit tight, but you're there for a snack...right!? Or you can use you imagination and call the counter the "Chefs Table" and watch your meal be prepared. Conversation with Sharon the owner about the farm and the restaurant is very informative and full of information about the area. Barb, the chef, fixes a mean burger! So don't be shy. The items served to us all came from her farm. Now desert! Gelato. A small sample was given, but she didn't need to do that she had me just at Gelato. The core product comes from the Honey Creek Creamery and it's wonderful. Prices are very reasonable and really you get more than you expected. Small seating area outside and a really cool eclectic bathroom that's a must see. Calibrate the GPS for this one so you do miss it. But keep an eye out for the burnt orange structure in the field. Grand opening will be in August and Stanley might make an appearance. Super place, nice people and great food! Good on you guys! Try to keep me away!
