We had fun here! We snagged a table, paid the fee and picked out a game. We hung out for a couple hours, drank some iced tea, decided to purchase a game. We were charged again for the table fee. Whoops.

Wow! After living in Omaha for quite a while, this is the first time I made it to the cute cozy and quaint Spielbound Board Game Café. Such a fun concept to have a multitude of games with access to coffee drinks, and some food as well. Spielbound has a game or something for everyone whether it be a trivia night, big tables for large groups or small more intimate tables if you just have a small group. The day pass can get you in all day and you'll have access to all of the games they have, which makes it a perfect rainy day, snowy day, or regular day activity. Their staff is very helpful in picking out games or drinks - just ask questions if you have them! Looking to try something new or have a free day on the weekend? Give Spielbound a try.

I've been to Spielbound many times for their pub quiz and for days of game play. It's a super fun concept, and a nice way to spend an afternoon with friends! The day passes for a full day of game play can run from $5-$7, depending on the day, which is pretty low when you see how many games and activities they have. They have HUNDREDS of games to play, and are adding more all the time. There is even a box out to suggests new games they may not have.Aside from all the fun games to play, you may get a bit peckish after a full day there, so they do have food and drink options too!Drink-wise, their coffee is out of this world delicious, and always comes with super cute foam art on top. I get the Sweet Victory latte, which is butterscotch and caramel and SO tasty. They also have some alcoholic options, like beer, wine, cocktails, and ciders. Day drinking and board games could be a lot of fun!In terms of food, they have pizza that is sourced from Tasty Pizza. I know it's heat and eat, but it was actually pretty dang good! However they're heating it up to serve is an excellent method because it does not taste unfresh at all. We had the hamburger pizza and it was super flavorful and filling. (We will definitely be stopping at Tasty Pizza to try some other flavors of their pizza, based on this!)Their fries were also pretty yummy, and came with bbq sauce and ranch to dip them in. I know fries are fries, but these were full of flavor and had a nice crunch.Aside from the games and food/drinks being delicious, the staff is also wonderful, helping you choose a drink, answering questions, and constantly restocking the games. These people have the patience of a saint!I definitely recommend Spielbound for an affordable and fun activity with the added bonus of enjoyable food and drinks, too.

The environment was very welcoming, the staff talked to you like you've been friends for years. I went with my boyfriend and a couple friends to play a new board game. I can say every single person in that room was having the time of their lives. There is also a café at the entrance. Had their chai tea latte and it was delicious!!

Super fun board game cafe! They have several rooms and lots of tables for games, a huge selection or you can bring them in yourself! They have a big selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, including coffee. We tried the Picard, which is a London fog with bourbon, the health potion, strawberry lime azul, and Spielbound mule. You can bring your own food in for a totally customizable experience!

Spielbound is a business that has an enormous board game selection you can rent from, buy retail board games, and they have a cafe. I have only ever had a drink from there (a French soda, which is cream, seltzer, and syrup) but it was positively delicious. The place is always super busy but retains a cozy atmosphere. You can tell everyone is having a grand time and has a passion for games. But what I love most is, like every good FLGS, you can ask an employee what board game suits your needs. Usually a conversation goes like this: I will tell the employee what I have in my own collection, what I like about certain ones, what I dislike about others, and they'll then tell me, "I recommend choosing from Game A or Game B." And they are usually very on-point and have a depth of knowledge hard to find elsewhere.

A friend of a friend recommended we check this place out on our trip to Omaha and, wow, what a terrific idea! When you walk in, there's a counter for coffee and other drinks and a small retail section jam-packed with games. I can't honestly say if there is food (other than candy bars strategically placed next to the register) because I was enjoying my conversation with the barista too much to look around.I had a mocha made with strawberry milk and the offspring had hot chocolate - both were delicious - but the real stars of the establishment are the hundreds of games on the shelves in a second room. I wish I had had more time to check them out - maybe on our next visit! They offer a day pass for access to the space and games (I think he said $6), but he kindly let us try a few since we were only there for a short time before the zoo opened. Of course we couldn't leave without adding a few more items to our own collection...This is a must-return when we get back this way. I just wish we had something like this close to home!

This is an awesome place to spend an afternoon. They have a huge selection of board games and extremely friendly and helpful staff! No matter your level of board game knowledge, there's a game here that will captivate your attention. I'd recommend this spot to anyone visiting Omaha and looking for a relatively low-cost, high-fun afternoon.

Atmosphere was fun. The service is only counter service not table side. This I did not know as it was my first time in. I ordered a coffee at the counter and started a tab in case I was going to order anything else. I was meeting a group so I went to our reserved room. The staff member only came in once at the end to tell us we had to leave because there was another reservation. Good to know as we were lost in our game and the time went so fast. We had dirty dishes on the table and empty glasses and I said I would pay my tab. He (it could've been a she I'm not sure) said we don't bring anything to you, come to the counter. Very abrupt and walked away and empty handed. The part that kind of rubbed me wrong, after 19 years in the service industry, I would 100% always lend a hand clearing a table. Especially if I was expecting a tip and double especially if I was walking away from a table with empty hands. It's just courteous especially since we were leaving with all our empties bussing our table, Christmas gifts, coats, purses and putting the games back. It required some help which we did not get. Fine ok I get the structure. HOWEVER...calm down with wanting tips when I did all the work. So when I go to pay my tab the same unhelpful person is making my change and is super dry and asks me "do you want your penny..." I said oh is that my change? He said yes. I said ok yes then I want it. This clearly did not make him happy because at that point he was assuming he wasn't getting a tip... I'm fully picking up on the negative vibe. I ended up dropping a Buck in the tip jar but I'm old school and I believe tips are earned and shouldn't be expected. Suggestion: let incoming customers (who all initially come up to the counter to pay the fee upon arrival) know that all service is counter service. That way they don't feel neglected if no one comes to the table. Rather, they feel happy when they see people stop by when they have time and empty hands. Don't act like taking something from the table is absolutely beneath you. I know there is SOME occasional downtime behind the counter when there are multiple workers back there. At these times, it would be above and beyond if someone did a quick sweep and did some bussing. I'm not saying take orders or cash anyone out at the table- simply ask if you can clear anything. This will increase tips and make customers happy. A win/win. They could potentially get stopped for orders which then they could "politely" direct them to order everything at the counter. But not just walk around for the sole purpose of telling people to leave and go hang out waiting for their tip. Actually come to think of it, when I did go up to pay, the same guy that didn't want to help me was up counting piles of tip money on the back counter behind the register.
