Smokin Barrel BBQ

The best bbq place I have ever eaten at in Nebraska. I'm only used to having this type of barbecue in Kansas City or St. Louis. It was amazing

I highly recommend their yummy Rueben Sandwich! They smoke their pastrami and pile it high on Rotellas rye bread with cheese and coleslaw and add an amazing garlic aioli sauce...........I ordered it deconstructed with only 1 piece of bread, this picture is after having just some of the meat and the awesome baked beans I got on the side.Been trying to hit the right days to go so when I found them open, I wanted to have a taste test of a few things on the menu.Got a small chili to try it, was a bit too spicy for me. As well the pulled pork was not my favorite when trying it a couple days later. Too dry, but the sauce was good!Nice, nice people. Hours are limited but you won't be disappointed!!

We came to Omaha for a quick weekend away. As we neared the city we pulled up Yelp and typed in BBQ restaurants, knowing the whole family enjoys BBQ. Smokin Barrel BBQ came up and had fantastic reviews. It's a no frills location and place. Honestly, the way a BBQ place should be. Order at the counter and they cut the brisket right then, in front of you. The table are spools from wire/cabling. The man behind the counter, who I assume is the owner, is very charismatic and friendly. The lady behind the counter was also very kind. They have suckers for the kids (after they finish their meal). I couldn't decide if I wanted a brisket or pulled pork sandwich so I ordered last. My kids went for a pulled pork sandwich, chips, and a drink. My husband got the brisket (1/2# meat), side of beans, and a drink. After watching theirs be made, I was still torn. I told the man I wasn't sure so he combined the two into a sandwich for me. I had potato salad and a drink. My husband and I both fully enjoyed our food. The brisket won my favorite spot. It was moist and perfectly seasoned. Absolutely fantastic! Our kids both enjoyed getting bites of our brisket. While my husband and I enjoyed the pulled pork, both our kids found it to be "spicy" and I'd have to agree that it is "spicy" for kids but great for adults! I'm not docking any stars for this because it was delicious, just not super kid friendly. My potato salad was creamy and had great flavor. I had too much food so my husband got to finish it. He said his beans were good too. One interesting bit to add, when the two workers left the counter (when there wasn't a line), the restaurant patrons were silent. You can tell it's good food when everyone is silent and eating. Definitely a place to give a try. My husband said, "it might be dangerous to know this place is here." I'm guessing our future Omaha trips will include a stop here again.

I stopped here for a quick bite during my visit. The customer service was top-notch, with such friendly people. I asked for recommendations, and they were able to help me choose some items. The meat was well-smoked and of high quality. The sides were good, and the chili had a nice kick to it. I look forward to visiting again for another bite.

Very pricey barbecue, but very good too. We got 1&1/2 lbs of ribs to go and they cost $32. I've never bought barbecued ribs by the pound before and this was a surprise. I thought 1&1/2 lbs was probably a slab but I think it was more likely to have been about 3/4 of a slab which makes it even more pricey. The ribs were very good as was the slaw just pricey. They also add a 3% convenience charge to your bill which also was a surprise when I got home and reviewed the receipt.

Wow food here looks great on other customer's tables as we in line. The Farm and a Rueben is our delicious choice for lunch today. Excellent experience overall and a bit different ordering situation which really works. We like a lot.

Great spot for smoked meats and barbecue! They have sausages, ribs, and brisket. You can either order them by the 1/2 pound or in a sandwich. They also have drinks and a variety of sides (Cole slaw, beans, and brisket chili). Highly recommend the brisket chili! They also offer pickles, bread, jalapeños, and pickled onions with your order. Just let them know what you want when ordering.

Everything we tried was delicious! Small location in a strip mall. Service was friendly and speedy!

Was recently visiting Omaha for work and needed a lunch place close by to my client. This joint had 153 five star reviews. Can't miss, right?This one is worth the five stars though. The exterior isn't super inviting. In fact, when I saw the restaurant hours written on the backside of a paper bag I almost turned around. Glad I didn't. Ordered the brisket sandwich with potato salad. Holy shit, this is some serious brisket. The sandwich only contained two lengthwise cut slices of brisket, but each cut was 1/4" thick or more and so long they had to be cut in half. Very minimal fat, well trimmed brisket. Smoke content was just right and oh so tender. It just fell apart. Just a ton of meat falling out of the bun even though it was technically just two slices. If you dig Q, this place is a great choice. Check 'em out. Cheers!

WOW, JUST WOW Found this place on a whim because we were craving barbecue. Amazing food, great service, and a cool rustic look with cable spools as tables The Good:We were greeted with a welcoming hello and nice small talk to feel like we've been regular customers for years. The meat was oh so delicious, and the sides had an abundance of flavor that complimented each other very well. The options for barbecue sauces were bourbon, sweet, and spicey; each amazing in their own way. Gotta come here and eat!!The Bad:Food and service wise, there is nothing to add here. The hours of operation are very short, 11-2 Wednesday through Saturday.The Ugly Truth: This is an instant first place on our list of barbecue places in the metro. The food is absolutely amazing and meat is so very tender. The staff is happy and friendly and willing to help if needed. If you're craving some fine barbecue and great atmosphere then you have to make sure to come here and become a regular!!!!
