another business so close to me that I can't believe I haven't seen before! This little mercantile was absolutely beautiful, felt like I was in a more down to earth pottery barn. The big windows, the typewriter print, the beautiful artistry and detail about the shop is all just so inspiring. they had so many beautiful options for home decor, kitchen, decor, books and more. I felt so at home! What a beautiful corner store to have.

The building is beautiful and historic, though I don't know the history of it. Being on the corner, I'm guessing it was originally a clothing or grocery store in the late 1800s.The outside sign stated something about locally handcrafted furniture. It also states it is a store for decor and home goods. I thought I would find locally crafted goodies, but it appears the only thing local is the candles, made in-store. The decor items I picked up other than candles all had tags that said Made in China or Product of India. Far from the local goods and crafts I was hoping for. And the items all seem to be very colorless and drab. Light wood tones, browns, some faded blues. It seemed that all the merchandise would fit well in one particular home with one particular design theme. Nothing more or interesting unless that one design aesthetic is your vibe.

Love the store. It's beautiful and calming. They have pretty things and are nicely displayed. I hate the prices. Everything is about 1/3 too expensive, especially since it's not in the Bay Area, which is where I typically see prices like this. I wonder how much more they would sell if they lowered their price point.

This is a beautiful store and contrary to other older reviews I thought the owner was quite responsive and very friendly!! I had a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. This is truly a gem in Ashland. I love their candles and have gotten some great finds.

We went to a Christmas party one day and in their home, they had multitudes of the most amazing smelling Christmas tree candles I have smelled in a long time. Looking at the label of these candles, they are made from coconut and soy wax and leaf free cotton wick. I told myself I need to find this candle. The Rockefeller scent of the Salt Creek Merchantile candle is only found in the store which is located in Ashland, NE. They may have a website, but I was more determined to see the store just in case I may have wanted to smell more scents and to see what else they sell. Walking into the store, it is warm and inviting. You can literally smell all of the candles there. Which, they make I'll of them in the store. They also sell many other types of household items. I purchased some vegan dishwashing soap. Their Rockefeller scent, which I found is very popular, was sold out. Luckily, the lady there let me buy the sample which I was so happy about. I love this candle and really hope they get some more before the holidays are over!

I absolutely love this store! It's like our own little Magnolia Market right here in Ashland. I don't need Chip and Joanna Gaines, I have Salt Creek Mercantile! I love going in frequently to see what new items have arrived. The homemade candles are the best! I'm addicted to them! If you love the "farmhouse" style decor definitely take time to visit.
