Stinky little store. I kept coming up with theories all the way through it as to why that was.Maybe it's old? Maybe its not very clean? Maybe its clientele all wear adult diapers they need to go home and change? I dont know, but I was afraid to buy any perishables as a result. Tiny, but ok selection of most things, except for Chobani Flips (which I was too afraid to buy), I dont know if they sell any fresh meat, they had processed meats (also, which I didn't buy or even look at.) Only one kind of eggs: store brand 12 pack, no Egglands Best omega 3 eggs for anyone in town. Most of the fresh produce looked pretty good, as did the bagged salads and lettuce blends in back of the others. The ones in front were pretty not good. Prices on some things store wide were really, really high ($7 for 28 tampons) Some things were priced really low (.69 cilantro! Dried spice form, I dont think they sell it fresh) a mixed bag of unpredictableness in pricing and selection. . If I lived in this town, sure I'd shop there. But I wouldn't like it, and maybe I'd go full vegetarian. Located walking distance from a truck stop (if you dont get caught by the railroad police and forced to go around the train tracks the long way, instead of zipping straight across them and turning left;)), or you can get delivery by instacart, but be careful on the prepped, bagged produce. That stuff isn't all fresh and rosy. Make sure you put instructions in there for your personal shopper to grab you a bag from behind all the ones in front if you go that route.

I always like the friendliness at Havelock, not to mention the "small town atmosphere inside"

This is one of the smaller locations. Because of the location most of the shoppers are the older crowd so if you are feeling impatient you might want to go elsewhere. The service is great and the store is kept nice and clean but because it's a smaller store they don't have some of the variety of the others...somehow I end up here almost every day though...

Pleasant store with fairly wide selection; prices a little higher than the groceries I usually patronize (I'm cheap). Open 24 hours so you can pick up nail polish remover or whatever at 3am.

Nice small town feel grocery store especially after the recent updates!!! Staff is friendly and service is great!! You get to the car carry out grocery service which is something that is hard to find anymore! Decent selection of products! And great selection of local products!! Deli service is great! Especially with the newer manager! Bakery is top notch!! Have ordered many cakes from here and they have always been amazing and really reasonable!!! Overall nice small town feel of a store and great associates!!!

We have shopped here for years! Friendly staff! Clean store. Well stocked! Much of the staff has been there long enough to remember when I was pregnant with my 10 year old son. My only complaint is prices. A little higher than average for some things but they give a lot back to the community and are a local business so I don't mind!

The store is only four blocks from my house and I have shop there for over 50 years. In the last 10 the quality has dropped so much that I don't waste my time even stopping in for something quick. I have a large organization that I must buy a lot of food for so they have made a lot of money on me in the past. Obviously that doesn't matter to them because just about everything that we purchased over the years they have gotten rid of even though I have spoken to them about it.One thing that is a real thorn in my side is that we have always bought a lot of deli meat from them. However, since New Management has taken over they obviously don't care if their clients are satisfied because whenever we come in for deli meat to be cut just about every time they tell us that they've cleaned the meat slicer and can't give us any! Now if the deli is open until 8:00 or 9:00 and a patron comes in at 7:30, today it was 7:05 p.m., and even though I have spoken to the management about this instead of trying to accommodate the customers, they now put up a sign saying the meat slicer will be cleaned at 6:00 p.m. this is so ridiculous it's beyond belief. None of the other stores in the city have to clean their slice two hours before they close. But this Russes just doesn't care about their customers. They would rather let lazy workers get lazier rather than make the money from a sale. I personally have spoken to people who clean those slicers and it doesn't take any more than 10 to 15 minutes. This was the last straw for us. I will be making the extra trip to the stores that care about their customers and they will be essentially wiped from my mind.

Russ's has a great little dining area. The prices are great, and the food is good. It's kind of like a secret diner.
