I had purchased my last two pairs of glasses at Robert Max. They have a great selection of funky unique sunglasses and eyeglasses for a crowd who is willing to spend more than typical on eye wear.However, due to how my husband and I were treated on Saturday, I will never return to Robert Max and will discourage people from going there. First of all, I called to inquire if they carried a specific brand of sunglasses. The saleslady responded 'No, we don't, but you know, we carry brands that are just much better quality than that.' The tone was certainly rude and judgmental. We decided to stop by there anyway, unfortunately. The saleslady was still there, and absolutely condescending to us. My husband tried on sunglasses and said he didn't care for the fit. In a 'you are so stupid and know nothing about glasses' sort of tone, she said, 'Well you know, we must fit them to your face. Nothing is going to fit you perfectly right away.' Well that's fine, but when you treat your clients like they are morons, that is not a helpful fact nor an enticing customer service offered. Then, as we made our way around the store, another saleslady was chatting with a friend, blocking our turn around the store. After excusing ourselves to continue walking through past them, they would not move! We had to actually walk through and physically brush past them to get through the store, and they finally decided they would slightly move the conversation to let us pass. What an abominable way to treat your customers!Finally, I decided to look for eyeglasses for a few minutes, and told the saleslady that I had trouble with mine not fitting properly, which had been purchased at Robert Max. I explained I had them corrected once at Pearl Vision, but just weren't working out. The final straw was when she responds by rolling her eyes, and saying 'Ugh...Pearl Vision? No, they would not do a good job. Bring them back here, we would do a much better job.' She was repulsed by the fact that I had stepped foot in a Pearl Vision. Well, from now on, I certainly will not step foot in Robert Max ever again. I have never been treated so poorly by a sales staff.

I have purchased several pairs of glasses here even though the staff is horrible and snotty. No more. I have worn glasses for 30 years and have never had a layer of stuff peel off my lenses. When I went in to ask about it the rude staff member said it happens. Really! Never happened before. The least they could have done was trouble shoot with me. I guess it's kind of my fault for going back to a business known for being rude to customers. I'll be sure to spread the word to my clients and friends about my experience.

If there is an Icon of opticians in Omaha it's Robert Max. Karen and Alex and company are genuine professionals, and yes they know it. While I'm not at all into coastal taste specific eyewear, you don't have to travel farther than countryside for world class service and design perfection. They will take care of you in style.

First class, fashion forward frames and lenses with remarkable clarity! I'm a tough fit and have very specific lens prescription requirements. RM comes through every time! Alex and Karen are brilliant at helping me find frames that flatter my face and will go above and beyond to ensure the fit is perfect. David it terrific as well, I've just not worked with him as often. If you are looking for something unique and fashionable no one does it better. Yes, you'll pay more, and they won't be ready in 24 hours, but quality and excellence takes time and worth it every time! Can't wait for my next pairs. Guaranteed you'll want more than one!

I am regretfully reporting disappointment regarding very expensive frames that did not hold up well over time. Considering the cost and the fact the glasses were definitely not mistreated, I would have expected better performance. An attempt to repair was made, but the problem has reoccurred and I'm not going to be able to wear them again. They should have performed way better considering the price. Robert Max & the staff are top notch, but these glasses cost too much to break down as they did.

I partially agree with the one reviewer who said that the Sales Personnel could sometimes come across a little superior. But from a service side they are up front and honest as to what fits and what doesn't. I have shopped fairly extensively around and have received a lot of poor advice on fit. Here they know what they are talking about. I've bought 4 pair here.This is the best selection of upper end eye and sun glasses. Hands down. If you want cheap don't bother. If your taste is for something different then the rest check them out.

I love the glasses I bought from Robert Max years ago (around 2003 ). I've worn glasses for decades, but these are the only frames I love--and constantly receive compliments on.But because RM is pricey and doesn't accept my employer's insurance, I've had to renew my lenses prescription at other, less expensive opticians. Then a few months ago, the arm/hinge on my frames broke. I stopped by RM to either get the frames repaired, or to find a replacement pair. In RM, I was looking around, trying on frames. After no one came over to help me after quite some time, I asked about the staff-person who'd helped me in 2003. The current staff told me that person no longer worked there, and asked what do I need. I told her I need to get the frames repaired, or find a replacement frame as great as these--I showed her my old frames. The current staff told me that's an old model and they don't make them anymore. I responded yes, I know it's an old model, but I was hoping to either get it repaired or buy similar frames--because there aren't many frames that look good on me. I asked if she could help me find something to fit my face shape, etc. (Basically, I was expecting the same service I got back in 2003. In 2003, the staff greeted me warmly as soon as I walked in, and showed me different frames to try on based on my face and style. And even--the first frame she picked was the one I ended up buying and wish I still had today!) But instead of the great service I'd received in '03, the current staff couldn't be bothered. She told me to just look around and let her know if I see something I like. Really?! That's the "service" I get, at these exorbitant prices! I thought maybe she was having a really bad day. But after reading these reviews here, I see that RMs service has slid into the toilet, but there prices are still sky-high.I will not go back to RM, I'll look online to find who else sells the brand of frames I want.
