Interior. Retro-cool vibes.
Seating. Plenty of comfortable seats to be found.
Theater 1 screen. Supposedly a laser projector but it didn't stand out to me.
Don't sit in the back row (row I).

I feel like a kid again anytime I get to go to a classic (nostalgic) theatre. I'm not that old (in my mind anyway), after all, my dad worked here as a kid. Probably my first time here in a decade or two. I was in town and somehow Deadpool and Wolverine was opening a day earlier here than in the rest of the world. Went with my nieces since I'm the "Cool Uncle". (I'm sure that's how they see me ;-) Tickets and popcorn were half what I pay where I live now. And I was definitely happy they upgraded to the comfy reclining seats. And there in lies the rub. For whatever reason, while most of the theatre's floor is on an incline, the floor between the last two rows must not be. And my niece's boyfriend got tickets for the back row. The guy in front of me was not excessively tall, nor was he wearing a giant hat, but when I reclined in my comfy chair his head rose like the morning sun into my field of view. I ended up sitting bolt upright for the entire movie. This would have bothered me more had I not been watching such a fantastic movie. Definately go see movies here . . . . just don't sit in the back row.

Updates and renovations have made this into one of the better theaters in the area. While it may not have the most exciting exterior or lobby, the theaters themselves have a historic, old-school vibe to them and feature modern, reserved seating that are incredibly comfortable. The theater has three screens, and the main theater (no. 1) particularly stands out. Screen and sound quality are good, but they're not as elevated as the seating. I wish the sound system was louder, deeper, and more refined. Also, since the location is downtown, parking can be all over the place. Stalls up front fill up fast. Pricing is fair, but do keep in mind this is still a small-town theater so temper your expectations if you've been to theaters outside the area like those in Lincoln or Omaha. Overall, though, this is a good theater made even better by the new updates and I've had nothing but pleasant experiences every time.

This theatre is actually one of the better ones in the Tri-City (Grand Island, Hastings, Kearney) area. There are only three screens, and it's an old-school style theatre with none of the modern amenities such as recliners, self-serve ticketing, etc., but it's got a certain charm, is well-maintained, and thankfully has good screens and a decent sound system. I've seen quite a few movies here over the last two years, and never encountered issues like the ones described in some of the other more negative reviews on here, so don't be discouraged. Personally, I think making the drive to Hastings to see new movies instead of going to the more "modern" AMC Classic Grand Island 7 is worth it for the simple fact that it's a better maintained venue with better 3D screens and sound. Pricing is the only downside. It's more expensive than the AMC Classic Grand Island 7, and can even approach bigger, more modern theatres like the AMC Oakview 24 in Omaha. Concessions are also about the norm with most other theatres. Overall, the Rivoli Theatre is still a great choice for seeing first-run movies.

It is what it is. This is an older movie theater with 3 screens. Antiquated charm and a little "run down". The seats are OK (a little narrow for my wide load) but not the modern lounge recliners you will find in larger markets like Lincoln or Omaha. The current staff is friendly and accommodating. The popcorn is almost always fresh and delicious. Like every theater, the concessions are over priced but still cheaper than in Grand Island. The difference between the movie going experience here and at the AMC Classic Grand Island 7 isn't enough to make me want to drive a half hour each way and pay more.

Ant-Man was freaking AWESOME! Unfortunately the Rivoli Theater in Hastings turned on their lights in the middle if the credits (full blast) making it impossible to see the ending scene. When I went to inform management that the light was on they gave me some BS excuse about why it was on. For one there were only four of us in the theater and second people stay past the ending credits to see these scenes. I always support local businesses and the Rivoli has always left the lights off for every Marvel film I've seen there. From this day forward I will always see films in G.I. at the Star-Plex cinemas. Didn't feel like the Rivoli gave a hoot about our complaints and were kinda smug about it. How unfortunate. #POORCUSTOMERSERVICERIVOLI

It's okay just make the snacks are a little pricy but other than that it's a good theater. Could use a remodel in the seating but everything else is nice. I figured unless you're taking a large group it's not worth driving an extra half hour to see a movie.

Went to the matinee today with my family. We spent $25 to attend the movie and then spent another $20 on popcorn/soda/candy. Half-way through the movie an employee was making rounds confiscating anything that was not bought at the theatre. I had a water bottle in my purse that I had taken a sip of and he told me that I could not have it in the theatre and took it away. He had 3-4 other bottles of water in his arms also. I feel like this is very poor personal relations with customers that have spent good money at the business already. I rely on water to prevent medical complications and did not drink my own water to try to rip the theater off. As stated earlier we spent $20 in refreshments. It was also very disruptive to everyone in the theatre watching the movie. I will think twice before going to a movie at this theatre again.
