My daughter and I go to RE Park whenever there's an event that we are interested in and it's always a good time. The area always looks really nice. The art is cool and unique. The Pavilion building is very nice and modern and the amphitheater style seating is nice in front of the large, open field. All in all, this place is a really nice place that is close to, well..........the river's edge, lol, and a couple nice restaurants.

This park is located on the Iowa end of the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, along the Missouri River and across from Lewis and Clark Landing. Its official name is Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park. It is a spectacular park that has a walking trail, a restroom facility, a large YMCA field, a patio area, an amphitheater, picnic tables, and a playground. The park spans a whopping 90-acres and was opened in June 2013. The 5-acre field is huge and was be occupied by little kids' flag football teams that were practicing. It is well maintained and has picnic tables, among the small trees, running along the side of it. The field can be beautifuly illuminated at night with colorful LEDsThe park is home to a couple of distinct public art pieces. The first one is by the playground and restrooms. It is a towering 33 foot tall aluminum foil man sculpture. It is hard to miss and can be see from across the river. You will find the other piece right off of the river. it it a tall, bright red kinetic sculpture, which is also hard to miss. This park actually has its own private parking lot, which is nice. The restroom facility is large and has a water fountain. The playground is small, but nice. It is on a rubbery mat surface and has a hammock, a huge pelican jungle gym with a slide. You will see a couple of benches and a few umbrellas around the area for caregivers to take advantage of while their littles play. The park's trails are very nice and well defined. It is interconnected to 40 miles of recreational trails that can be used by walkers, runners, and cyclists alike. Given the park's amphitheater and open layout, it is perfect for special events such as concerts, festivals, speeches and fairs. This park is well maintained and you can get some amazing views of the Missouri River, Omaha shore, and Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge. This is an awesome park that has a real chill vibe. I enjoyed my time here and 100 sure that you will too.

Pretty views and a fun children's play area with a pelican play structure as focal point. The area is called Belles' Play Garden. So fun! You can rent the Pavilion indoors and outdoor spaces for events. Parking available.

Beautiful park. So sad that mother nature had decided to flood some of it. Looks like a fantastic place for picnic or hang out. The is a public bathroom and water fountain to fill your bottles. A beautiful sculpture stands in an accessible area. Young trees fill the landscape. It's accessed easily by road or by bike trail and pedestrian bridge. You can even fish nearby. We got here by crossing the beautiful pedestrian bridge. Easy walk that crosses from Nebraska to Iowa.

Update: This is the perfect place to train your dog on or off the leash without too many distractions (until you all read this review and flock there!) The grass is vibrantly green, goes for yards and yards and is trimmed regularly. The park is free of litter for the dog to eat or get into. Secondly, it is away from the road and safe for him to run free for us downtown city dwellers without yards. I love this place and it has become an evening and weekend staple for us! Bring water for you and your dog, bug spray (summer) if you're bait usually, and use the bathroom beforehand unless you're ok with porta-potty. The expansion may fix this but until then...

A few years ago, a flood washed this all away before construction could be completed. But now since it's all dried up, River's Edge Park is becoming a prime destination for fun and free entertainment for the metro area. It's basically a giant lawn that is used for concerts and other outdoor festivals. It also gives people on the Nebraska side of the pedestrian bridge a reason to cross over and not immediately turn back. As the years progress, we'll see more and more development in the Iowa side of the pedestrian bridge -- apartment towers, restaurants and shops. This park is a great first start.

This place is awesome. Now there's a parking garage so parking is much easier. Hang out on the green lawn, walk over the Missouri River Pedestrian Bridge into Omaha, access to the trails, bCycle rentals, etc. They also have some really great festivals and live music events. We visit often.
