Food was really good. The had the #9 pesto panini sandwich with a substitution of turkey and pepper Jack cheese for the ham and provolone cheese. I think they may charge for substitutions or maybe they added what I wanted to sub. The total should have been $12.20 +tax and itwas $15.19 before tip. I also ordered a chocolate malt and it was probably big enough for two to share. There was only one server and at least half of the restaurant was filled from the time we walked in until we walked out. She did a great job getting everyone's orders and serving our food while it is hot. The ambience was nice and similar to what you would expect for a soda fountain place.

I come down to Plattsmouth a few days a week for work and we always go out to eat for lunch. This is the best place to eat in Plattsmouth. All of my co-workers agree! Excellent quality food, reasonable prices, friendly servers, and quick service. They have a vegetarian option, which is awesome in a small rural town that is a desert for vegetarians and vegans. They have multiple options to make it into a wrap or a panini. I chose the panini option and it was incredible. Our server was so sweet and friendly. We will be coming here again!

Come to Plattsmouth and try out this small town restaurant with big city flavor. Located across the street from the courthouse, this restaurant supplies the city with delicious milkshakes, sandwiches, and ice cream that cannot be replicated at home. Your first step into the restaurant you are almost taken back to its first 103 years as a bar with an ice cream parlor twist. The restaurant retains a lot of its nostalgic feel and I was really enjoying it. The misses and I saw it and tried it on a whim. I was lucky enough to try the Roast beef and cheddar and I don't know what they did to that sandwich, but I don't think I could find another that will hold a candle to it. Wonderful and flavorful and perfect amounts of everything. The mrs decided to try the special which was a Turkey Bacon and Swiss on flatbed. Now I would love to tell you how that sandwhich was but by the time I looked to see how she was doing on it, it was gone. Now the hardest part of our trips is my son, who I decided on a Grilled Cheese. I don't know whether to be happy, or jealous because I've never seen him eat one that fast and I try to make them weekly as a quick lunch or dinner so hats off to the chef because you got a picky eater to eat that fast!

Doesn't get better than an old fashioned soda house in a small town that's a short drive from the big city. The food I had was great and the shakes are creamy and large. Come on down. You won't be disappointed. Melissa is the best hostess and treats everyone like family. Enjoy!

Since I wrote my review, we had our twins' first birthday party here! Although I don't believe it says so online, they do hold events, parties, and even weddings. Jennifer was so easy to work with and helped with us on the menu and decorations for the party. They provided fruit, pie, ice cream, and beverages and allowed us to bring smash cakes for the boys as well as cupcakes for our guests. I brought some cute party decor but with the charm of this place, it really doesn't need much! A lot of our guests had never been here before and were blown away with it! So if you want to impress your friends, have your event here. :)

This is one of our favorite places to eat. The staff is always sweet and recently when we have been only doing carry-out, orders are always ready on time and perfectly made. We love to stop and sit at the bar for root beer floats and malts after school. The space is an old bar, fun to sit and enjoy the nostalgia. My parents insist on going here for lunch every time they come out to see us. Can't beat this locally owned sandwich spot!

Great sandwiches, amazingly friendly staff, very down to Earth, and the greatest floats we've ever had.

The River House now does dinners on the first Friday of every month, in addition to their usual lunch hours. My parents have been regulars at the dinners for months, and invited us to join them this month, giving us the excuse we needed to try it. They change the menu every month, but this time it was flatbread pizza (our favorite was the pesto and chicken sausage; the Thai Chicken was also pretty good) and just as delicious as their panini sandwiches, though the service was achingly slow because they lack a proper restaurant oven and were having to cook one pizza at a time. Past dinner menus my mom has mentioned include enchiladas and corned beef and cabbage. To be on the safe side, plan to spend awhile if you go, but the food is worth it and the service always extremely friendly.

Great small town lunch stop! Simple, yet delicious menu. We had the pesto panini and the Reuben. Both were excellent. The shake-of-the-day was the coffee shake. It was so large we shared it amongst the three of us.
