My wife and I are moving from Maine to California, travelling across the country on a shoestring budget. To cover any road hazards we got AAA before we moved. As we drove through Iowa, late at night, in the rain, I started to nod off. I realized I needed to get off the road and get some rest so I took the next exit (173) that had a sign for a welcome center. We drove a bit down the road and realized that it wasn't likely to be a rest stop style welcome center so I pulled in the a farm driveway to turn around. Well, when I backed up I realized that there was an 8' ditch and had nearly tipped the 6x12 travel trailer my pickup was towing into that ditch. Clearly my wife, dog, two pet bunnies and I were stuck and the cusp of deep trouble, far from home, in the middle of nowhere. Calling the AAA that I thought would save us I was told that they didn't cover our type of trailer and that I would have to make our own payment arrangements with the tow operator. Well, this wasn't music to our ears, we have everything we've got sunk into the move and our new lives across the country and this is the exact reason we got AAA in the first place. Well, a short time later a tow truck arrived in the 3am rain and got us quickly and professionally out of the ditch. The tow operator was courteous, professional, and very competent. After pulling us free, he directed me as I backed out onto the road and when I looked to him for what we owed him he told me "Drive safely and have a good night.", I looked at him shocked and asked "We're all set?" and he simply repeated "Drive safe."God bless you Gary Richter, you saved our tails and proved that there truly are good people out there in this world. I would and will recommend Richter and Son Towing to anyone I know. AAA should be honored to have this kind of upstanding American as one of their contractors. I can't thank you enough and will repay you somehow when we get ourselves settled in our new life.

1st they took advantage of our situation only 20 miles out they charged us $700.26 plus tax.Then they charged us $1.010 plus tax for oil and filter change.Be aware, you have been warned!!!

This company over charges for towing services. Yes, I glad they were able to come at night time in the middle of Iowa -I80, but $600 dollars to tow a small vehicle is ridiculous. I wish them well, but needs to have more empathy when is a college student trying to pay for college. I don't know how they come up with this amount, since the receipt doesn't show how much they charge per mile or call. Need to have an itemize receipt, so people know exactly what they were charge for.

The circumstances around our interaction with Richter & Son are related to a vehicle we were having shipped across the country. The carrier company who was responsible for this ultimately were involved in an accident, crashed the car, abandoned it, lied about it, and then it was towed by the state police to/by Richter & Son's tow yard.The first we heard of this was when the carrier company came back to try and pick the vehicle up, and drop off a wrecked car on our driveway. Richter & Son knew something was fishy, must have looked up our contact information by VIN or license plate, and told us what was going on. They texted me photos and helped me figure out how to get the police reports. We really appreciated this. They were the only honest, solid, good people we interacted with during this whole misadventure. Thanks guys.

3am on I-80. Driving from CO to MN. Wheel fell off. Heinous. Steven arrived promptly and ready to help. His charisma immediately lightened our mood, and put us at ease in a time of stress and turmoil. He knew exactly what to do, and we were at a hotel sleeping cozily in no time. Thanks Steven!

Was towed by Steven. Tried a couple different repair shops and he went in with me to talk to the shops and helped find me the right place. He went above and beyond and really looked out for me and my truck and trailer. Top Notch Service!!!

It's unfortunate that our car broke down along I-80 near Stuart Iowa. We're very fortunate and grateful for the courteous, respectful driver Richter & Son sent out to rescue us. We greatly appreciate everything you guys did to make our stressful situation as best as it could be. Thanks again.

Tow truck driver impatient after arriving two hours late and driving by Location. Also they "DO NOT" put drive shafts back on its not there responsibility after they take it off plus he was in a hurry to get to next job and when talking to management they were short with us too
