After 6 months I have still not gone into our garage to see what is left of my baby. After 25 Thousand Dollars all I received back was my car tore apart, some parts cleaned, rust cut off, paint removed. All this after they had the car for about 3 plus years. Numerous requests for what the remaining payment would be went unanswered except for "well, you never now what you are going to get into." I can understand that when you first bring a car in. But after the motor had been broken down, body stripped, and interior checked, any reputable restoration shop should know how much needed left to do and approximate cost to do that. I finally had enough of not hearing from them that I requested how much was owed at this time so we could pick it up. We had given 10K previous to this point. 15K for more work done. and then 5 Thousand for him to make it to be able to be brought home. In pieces!!!! My husband has warned me not to go in there, but eventually I am going to have to. All I have seen is when it was on trailer and we brought it home, not up close. This is my baby, 1978 Trans Am. Bought brand new in 78. I brought all my children home from the hospital in it. I used it and loved using it. Yes, it was rough, but not to the point that you would trash it. When my youngest son died due to PTS and TBI from being in Afghanistan I knew I needed to restore her. I looked for what I thought was the best place and found the worst ran shop. Nothing can compare to the loss of my child, but this is close.

Buyers from restore a Muscle car beware!!!! I bought what was described as a numbers matching Trans Am. What I got was a Trans Am that was probably rear ended and someone welded (probably 20 years ago and a very subpar job) the whole back end from the front A pillars the roof , trunk to middle of floor from and from Drivers side rocker panel through the passanger side rocker panel. It is very unsafe as is, so lots of extra expense and work. I expected to be repairing and replacing panels and rebuild the engine and what not, but never expected someone to sell a car that is 2 half cars and made into one. And also charged a very high price for a numbers matching car. Dave Hall scammed me, Im just warning you so you don't make the same mistake I did. Go check out the car before you buy no matter how far. You don't expect Restore a Muscle Car to sell customers dangerous car, but they will. Dave has a very inviting website so don't get sucked in like I did. Also I called Dave to discuss the issue and asked me to call him back, but he has my calls blocked.

Called three times asking for someone about a question of a rebuild on a transmission for an old Chevy before x- mass dec 23 to be exact, called again later that day because I never heard anything back, Jan 9 th still no phone contact called again and have always talked to an office person, a lady ( I forgot her name) telling her this is my last try, and even told them each time what it was about, this time I had a phone call returned near the end of the day asking what it was I needed??????? I explained this several times, apparently the owner is the only one who can answer questions about anything, and good luck if he even gets the message poor communication.

Make sure you see anything you may purchase IN PERSON, as I was not able to do, I purchased a vehicle that they had painted,( Restore A Muscle Car) which was a very solid straight, rust free car and did not require a lot of body work. I had seen and talked to them about the car before paint. I decided to buy the car after paint, thinking this was a top level place, I was expecting a nice job. They painted the car and recovered the seats and added new door panels, interior pieces, detailed the engine bay a little and added $17,000 to the price of the car. Needless to say I bought the car without seeing it in person, had I been able to do so, I would have never bought the car. After shipment, seeing the car in person was a HUGE disappointment, I could not believe that what I thought was a top notch place could do such bad work, most of the bad stuff was in the prep before paint. There were so many spots on the car that could have easily been sanded and cleaned up better before paint, I can see in too many areas the new paint right on top of the old paint that did not get removed or sanded. There are also multiple bubbles where the paint is lifting away from the primer and drips and runs here and there. I never got to talk to the owner on the phone, I always talked to his dishonest sales assistant that made false promises and basically did his best to sell me something I wasn't actually getting, like air conditioning that worked and a dash that wasn't capped. The car was also not safe to drive due to a leaking master cylinder and brake lines that were so bad my mechanic replaced them without asking me first because he did not want me to drive the car with the original dry rotted lines, though I admit I bought the car AS-IS. Anyway I hope others can learn from my HUGE mistake and make sure you see what you are buying with your own eyes and take someone with you if needed, especially if you are buying a classic car. I was going to sell the car but I have decided to take it to local car shows and beyond this fall to warn people like me who spend every last dime to obtain a dream car and end up with a nightmare. NEVER trust a used car dealer any further than you can throw them....
