Relish Lunch & Catering

(Disclosure: this place is run by a friend of my sister's, which is how I heard about it.) Relish is tucked away in the old Golds Galleria, on the second floor near the Skybridge to Southeast Community College. Just take the escalators or elevators up.Menu changes daily; I've never had breakfast here but have had several pleasant lunches and catered a party. For lunch, there are a variety of sandwiches (always at least one veggie option); entree salads, mixed up right then (so if you want to change up the ingredients or get dressing on the side, you can); soup; and various baked goodies for dessert. Fountain soda, fruit-infused water, or tea. Served on real plates with real silverware; lunch area is pretty small but nice. They do boxed lunches and they do cater; when my mother was laid up we got her lunches from here, and the food we had brought in for her birthday party was a hit: tasty and nicely presented. (She provided serving dishes/utensils/etc.; can't comment on the price as she does know my sister). My father, a long-time downtown worker, asks for this place by name.

This place is a little hole in the wall that is only open Monday thru Friday. It closes during the mid-afternoon. You can't go wrong with the salads which are served on real greens and not that Iceberg lettuce crap. Egg salad sandwich is a must. Other sandwiches are great, too. Try their scones when they first open in the morning. Good stuff! Wish they would move into an easier to find location but they seem content with their current space. Oh, and they cater to the stars! For real. They have catered food for the performers who come into town to perform live on the Lied Center stage.

Absolutely wonderful little restaurant! Healthy options, pre-made sandwiches to go if you are in a hurry. The owner and staff are great to talk to, wonderful sense of humor. They support local artists too! I never have to wait very long for service and can always find something to satisfy my cravings.
