Railside Highway Diner

For lunch here now. Plain cheesecake first, as usual. Is good. Blue Bacon Burger, rare prep, for me. B having spaghetti special with side salad. And all real good and quick to table. Just right here.

Burger was well cooked but small for $12. Side, not included, was a not hot cup of Mac & Cheese that would have been mediocre even if warm. Fellow diner had the "almost" hot roast beef sandwich. Half size serving at $8 was a good deal. We were invited to go get our own drinks when we arrived seemingly with the inference that these were included. Not so. Self serve on water as well. Service was good (discounting deceptive drink offer) and when I noted the side was not included as I thought it was, she said, "No, sadly."The atmosphere and wall decor were top notch although displayed a bit too precisely for my taste. The seating was nice and clean as was the restaurant in general. Well above the average small town restaurant. Only negative In ambience was the temperature. Chilly and then some. Probably would try again with full knowledge of price points and expectations.

Nice little diner with good food and pleasant staff. We stop on our road-trip going back home. I'd stop again if in the area.

Great place in a little town on the way to Kearney Nebraska. Great food and service! Had the Chicken Fried Steak which was awesome!!!
