I enjoyed the disc golf course at this place! It is not directly location on the lake site, but just one road over. It's an open area with a fun course with lots of obstacles and the occasional turkey crossing! I wish the parking lot was a little bigger as when it gets busy it's hard to maneuver. Overall good course for Omaha!

Prairie Queen Rec Area is wonderful, a nice little 4 mile loop around the perimeter with no forks in the path that will confuse you (talking to you, Walnut Creek and Chalco Hills, hah). This a perfect place for a run, walk, or bike ride with nice wide paved paths. The lake is good for small boats, kayak, paddle boarding, and fishing. There are some exit points around the perimeter that clearly go into the adjacent suburbs. Not many trees (aka little to no shade), but a nice peaceful walk regardless.

A hidden gem off of 370, close to Werner Park, for now. Neighborhoods are still being developed on the East side of the lake so take advantage while you can! The trails are wide and smooth, east side mostly shaded, west side has little shade. Great views, geese, ducks and cranes seen when we were there for a run and trails would make for a nice smooth bike ride, as well.

This is a newer lake in the area and I really like how wide open it is. The trail is about 4 mile around the entire lake and overall its pretty level so for makes for a nice run, hike or walk. Its very peaceful and enjoyable to come out and enjoy nature.

Beautiful park with great scenery! The distance around is about 4.07 miles, and really, it didn't seem like it was that long. The only negative, which really has nothing to do with the area, rather the people that go there: clean up your dog's shit. For real. You are being an asshole and an irresponsible pet owner.

Had a great night fishing at Prairie Queen. We parked just west of Werner Park. Off 132nd and Lincoln Road...it is the southern part of the lake. We got tons of bites and had a great time. Lots of people walking the trails and other families fishing but there is so much room we had our own little spot with very little traffic. As a bonus we had front row seats for werner park fireworks when we were packing up to go home. Nice lake! We will be back!

Just to the west of Werner Park, the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District is creating a new Recreation Area as part of their flood control efforts. The paths around the lake are finished as is the Boat ramp and a few picnics area, the are just needs to settle down a little more for it to open, hopefully the beginning of 2015.

Lovely, and apparently not very well known, park. As mentioned by other reviewers, the full lake lap is about 4 miles but you can split it into the upper loop (~2.5 miles) or lower loop (~1.5 miles) by cutting across the bridge. Very open in portions (little to no tree cover) so be prepared for that NE wind!
