I've been working with Samantha and Christopher at Porridge Papers for the last two years. I run a custom letterpress printing business in Eugene, Oregon and Porridge makes the best custom, handmade paper I've ever had the pleasure of printing on. Seeded or unseeded, and in a wide variety of colors (ie. they will make any color you want), their stock is just about as good as it gets. They're even up for crazy stuff like scented paper and paper with glitter in it, if that's what suits your fancy! We've used Porridge Paper for wedding invitations, save-the-dates, birth announcements, business cards and stationery, you name it. It's great for everything! Everyone I've ever dealt with at Porridge is awesome, incredibly helpful, and they really know their stuff. If you're searching for custom, handmade paper, look no further than Porridge.

Porridge Papers has the most amazing recycled handmade papers! Christopher makes seeded paper (an awesome idea for wedding favors), and can create paper in any color (really awesome if you want to match bridesmaid dresses for your wedding!). He also has a great selection of letterpressed wedding invitations at pretty good prices. Oh, and he's a cool guy too! :)

Absolutely love my wedding invitations that Porridge Papers letter-pressed on their amazing seed paper! Ran into one small problem and they were so quick to fix it, it made me even more impressed! Great to work with and beautiful results! Prices very reasonable for custom work.

The quality of the product was excellent. Equally important was the hands on attentive advice they gave me during the process of making the paper.I was completely satisfied .

The good: (1) The letterpress is good quality. The bad: (1) Be Careful on the Number of Proofs: They told me they would do "as many proofs as necessary" to get my invitations right. Then, half way through the process they told me that additional drafts would be "at an extra charge." I asked where it said that in the contract and reiterated that I was told that they wanted me to be happy, and there was no limit on proofs. They agreed that I was correct and apologized for saying there was an extra fee, but then started responding much slower to my emails. (2) Hope They Don't Mess Up: On the final draft, I said everything looked fine but that there was one typo that needed to be changed. They sent an email stating that the typo was changed and the design sent for plating. When I picked up the final version - the typo was not changed. When I brought up the error, they stated it was somehow my fault for the error. I can understand mistakes and take them in stride - but I can't handle being blamed for something that was clearly not my fault (as evidence by the emails... GRRRR.) Because of their error, they had to reprint the cards (which they did), but I had to re-stuff all of the invites. It took me 4 HOURS. They did not offer to do that. (3) Your Deadline May not Be Their Deadline: They said the invitations would be done Monday. There were not done until Friday (with the typo). (4) Make Sure "and guest" and "and family" are Printed As Requested: On the guest list I submitted for the outer envelopes, I had listed "and family" or "and guest" after certain guest names (to indicate they could bring a date or their children). Porridge Papers printed the addresses but left off all of the "and family" and "and guest." What's worse is that they didn't tell me they left this off. I was stuck sending Facebook messages and calling family to let them know their children were invited to my wedding. When I wrote an email to Porridge Papers stating that I was frustrated that the information had been left off the guest envelopes... they wrote back saying "best wishes." I would have appreciated an apology.
