Very nice place. The docent was very nice and very informative! We actually showed up on free museum day which was a bonus.

If you're as big a fan of Americana as I am and love anything associated with the old west, this is your place.Would you believe that as much hoopla there is in film/literature/history about the Pony Express, it ran only about a year and a half? This place, is the only barn/museum dedicated to the Pony Express that I've found. In fact, this may well be one of the only Pony Express barns still standing in the country.Nice exhibits, and every year they run a ride between California and Kansas in June.

This is one of those great pieces of history which made a nice stop on a long road trip. Certainly more interested than an ode to the Jackalope...also up the road a ways. It was great how they staff told the story and history of something very briefly covered but also one of the most iconic concepts to the Westward migration. I learned a lot and so did my daughter.

This museum covers the Marysville connection to the pony express story. Part of the exhibits ingeniously use repurposed store mannequins in full scale dioramas to tell the story. The barn is very authentic looking with it's dirt floor and smithy in the corner. In addition to the pony express, the museum also showcases some collections of tools, railroad lanterns, political buttons, guns, and arrowheads.Overall we quite enjoyed the museums combination of funky local atmosphere and Kansas frontier story of the pony express.
