As an avid knitter I love visiting new shops when traveling and this shop did not disappoint. Traveling from Denver, I knew I would be coming in close to closing and they cheerfully agreed to wait for me. Wonderful selection of yarns and supplies and friendly service above and beyond. Add to that an art gallery on the first floor to keep the boys busy. Delightful!

I found this shop through my yarn app, but thought perhaps the shop had closed. Enter through the art gallery parking lot and take the elevator (to the right of the entrance) and go to the second floor.Excellent selection of yarns from familiar manufacturers (i.e., Berocco, Rowan, Cascade, etc.) but lines seldom found in other shops. Lots of samples around the shop are well labeled to help with identifying pattern and yarn. Don't overlook the sale shelf with some exciting finds to be had! Staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. There was a class in progress at the obligatory table in the middle of the store. Eavesdropping on the conversation while browsing indicated a happy group of friendly helpful knitters. If you're visiting Omaha, this is a shop well worth seeking out. If you're a local, this should already be on your radar!

I stopped in here during spring break and it's a delightful little shop! Everyone is friendly and there's lots of yarn to choose from. If you want something just tell them you want more of it because they keep a huge stock in the back as well and the front of the store is more for display.

They do have a wonderful yarn selection. The yarn is beautiful but does not have price tags on it. You have to look the price up in a big book--very inconvenient and difficult. I have been in here many times and found the staff, in general to be unhelpful and not friendly. They seem to have a superiority complex-to the point where you feel like you are bothering them if you ask for help. I haven't been in for a while. They did move recently after their building was torn down for the Children's Hospital expansion. There are several other yarn shops in Omaha that I prefer. I really feel a yarn shop should be focused on the customer.

I love this yarn shop. The yarn selection is outstanding...so much of an assortment and so many choices. I went in looking for a skein of yarn to knit while on a vacation and walked out with 4 skeins and some new needles. Planning to make another stop before my vacay ends. The shop is on the second floor above an art gallery. Parking is right up front.

I came in today feeling apprehensive being a male knitter. Usually I feel like an oddball, but the owner was incredibly friendly and let me look & touch without feeling watched or judged. I walked out with incredibly too much yarn (lol), but a love for a store in a different state than in from. Dangerous!!!

So I picked up some European knitting porn the other day and became entranced with the idea of knitting a sweater named Savanna. I am not kidding you. The sweaters have names. I am not sure that they are their real names lol My chosen sweater is probably known in real life as Sandy.Anyway, I went to Personal Threads becausea) they had the yarn for Savanna (4 ply cashsoft* by Rowan)b) they are having the annual 20% off sale right nowc) their inventory is updated regularly on their website so you know if they have what you want and how much it is going to cost ahead of timec) Michael's just does not do it for me anymore, especially since I went woolly and started felting.Joe helped me correctly calculate the number of balls I needed and the proper size needles. Kathy sold me a leather coin thimble for fingertip protection (she teaches knitting classes there, too) and some more yarn because I became enamored with Emily (Lima** in Machu Pichu by Rowan). And boy, does she have bobbles. Lots of 'em.Heaven help me!Do not read further unless you are a yarnophile:*57% extra fine merino wool33% acrylic microfibre10% cashmere**84% baby alpaca !!!!!!8% merino wool8% nylon

I haven't been here in a long time, and now i remember why. While the shop and selection is amazing, the staff was unfriendly and i felt bad interrupting their day with my silly questions, requests for help, and making then come to the counter so i could give then my hard earned money. I would like to go back to support a local business, but I'd rather stick a knitting needle in my eye. I get better service from the automated online checkout on the internet.

Oh what a delightful yarn shop!I was traveling, and when I do, I try to visit a yarn shop in town. The shop is located upstairs of a gallery and is stocked with huge selection of variety of good quality yarns. Joe was so helpful. He brought out discontinued yarns from the storage and gave me 20% off!I wish this shop was close to me so I can visit more often.
