Big Bro and I had a really good experience here. We were greeted promptly and the sales clerk listened carefully to what we needed... running shoes for Big Bro. The shoe guy asked questions and did a couple of gait and fit tests, in addition to measuring. He suggested three shoes to try and Big Bro liked the first one best. Out the door we went with new shoes that were specific to my brother's needs, all in about 20 minutes. It's a winner!

Had a recent appt with a physical therapist regarding some ongoing ankle pain and instability. In addition to some stretches and exercises, she recommended I seek some good shoes that offered more arch and ankle support. I immediately thought of Peak Performance on Cass as I knew they had staff that would properly measure your feet and check your gait and recommend shoes accordingly. This helped a lot as left to my own devices I would choose based on color or how "cute" they were rather than comfort or proper fit. I was there on a slow Friday afternoon as the only customer. The young gal that assisted me (I should have gotten her name!) gave me her full attention and provided excellent customer service. The shoes are a bit pricey but quality shoes always are and my PT says I need to think of them as the "gear" I require to walk around more pain free. I haven't had my new Brooks very long but they are extremely comfortable, seem to provide me more stability than my flimsy Sketchers and I am hopeful they will really help with my long time pain issues. I'm glad I chose to do business at Peak Performance and would recommend to anyone needing a decent pair of athletic shoes.

I needed a new pair of running shoes and decided to try out Peak Performance based on the reviews I had read. This wasn't my first time buying running shoes, but it was my first time buying them from Peak Performance and I was 100% satisfied.They take measurements, watch you walk, ask about trail vs pavement running, etc. before offering a selection of shoes to try on. I really appreciate that they do this. I didn't feel pressured to go for a more expensive shoe or anything like that. If you want and save a buck or two and skip the assessment, maybe stick to ordering online. But for those who want to be sure that you're getting the perfect pair of shoes, I'd definitely recommend Peak Performance. Friendly staff, good selection, average prices.

As an overweight out of shape old dude I made the crazy decision to start walking and jogging this summer. I went from zero to jog/walking 4 miles and ended up tearing my lateral plantar fascia. So after some Dr. Visits and some rest I talked to my buddy Kurt who recommended I go to Peak to get fitted for some shoes. I was hesitant because it come off as a hardcore running store. I decided to check it out and I am so glad I did. We were greeted right away and the guy that helped me sat me down evaluated my feet and knees and had some great recommendations in minutes. After trying on a few shoes I ended up going with the Saucony Guide 9. Compared to my 5 year old Nikes these felt like walking on the clouds and literally felt like having a spring in your step. After going on a 4 mile jog I am happy to report the shoes feel amazing and my plantar fasciitis hasn't hurt since going with these shoes. Peak performance is the place to go for newbs or pro's. They'll hook you up. The only reason I'm. Not giving 5 stars is because the prices are MSRP but otherwise a perfect store.

Unbelievable. Just left this location. Walked in to get new sneakers for my husband. We know the Brooks shoe we want. One guy kind of looks at us and walks past us to go outside. Okay. Another guy walks through the store, slows to look at us and heads out some other door. Okay. I go to the front door to see what time they close. 6:00 ... but it's only 4:00. Okay. Let me note that we are the only customers in the store. I go back in and wander to a side area of the store where a guy is having what appears to be a meeting with a couple of guys. It looked pretty casual. A guy looks at me but does nothing. Okay. So we left. We'll head west to another store. We've been buying our shoes here for years. What in the world is going on with this place? It would've been the easiest sale ever. It may have taken a whole 10 minutes out of their very busy schedule on a dead Friday afternoon.

1 year ago I bought shoes here and it was a great experience. I told everyone it's a good place to buy shoes. They watched me walk and recommended the best shoes for me. So of course I came back to Peak Performance when I wanted new shoes. None of that happened this time. They had to order my shoes and said they would be in within a week. 2 weeks later I still don't have the shoes. I called a couple times and have been told several conflicting stories. I finally went in to get a refund. No apologies just a bunch of excuses. I gave 3 stars because they have great shoes but I was not impressed with their customer service and it was nothing like the first experience.

Stopped in today around 5:00 pm to shop for a pair of athletic shoes for my teenage son. Shopping for shoes has never been high on our list of fun things to do together. He needs a pair for some summer activities and unfortunately is cursed with flat feet. The associate at the store was so friendly and helpful. She measured his foot, observed him walking on their indoor track, and found a pair of shoes in his size that matched his needs. They were a great value for how comfortable he said they were. Hoping we found ourselves a new favorite brand of shoes!

My daughter and I went in last week to see what shoe might help her with back problems. We had a nice and helpful experience with a sales woman "S". My daughter chose a shoe but didn't like the only color they had in stock. S helped us see what other colors they could order in her size. I looked on Zappos at the same time to see color options. My daughter was between 2 colors, so I ordered and paid for the only one that S could order (discontinued shoe, so S couldn't get all colors). S believed the shoe to be white, but we suspected it was blue as it was named "Sky." I also ordered the other color through Zappos (at a $40 savings mind you, but I wanted to give the local store the business and give S the commission). Zappos color came in the next day, and my daughter liked it. I got a message days later saying the sky color shoe was in at the store, so we went to look. After seeing that it is in fact blue, my daughter didn't want that pair. I asked to return the shoe, and the man helping us (seemed like the owner) was very huffy about it. First he said there was nothing saying I had already paid, but thankfully I had my receipt to show him. I gave no trouble about paying the $10 restocking fee, but he still harassed my daughter (age 15) with snotty remarks like, "You don't like gray??" (They are power blue shoes) and "What color are you looking for then?! I mean... I'm just having trouble understanding." When I said that S thought they were white which is what made us go ahead and try, he just frowned. I told him we had a great experience with S which is why I went ahead and gave her the business, but he didn't respond. I didn't even point out that I couldn't saved $40 and gotten them days sooner from Zappos (they had sky and all the other colors online). Lastly, he said the other shoes would be in tomorrow and asked if I had gotten a call about that. I never received that call, nor did I ask them to get the other color. I think he has us confused with a different customer, but when I said I never got another call, he literally rolled his eyes in disgust. I try to support local and give commissions to good salespeople, but this guy's attitude has ensured that I will never go to this store again. My daughter actually teared up in the drive home bc she felt so scolded and demeaned.
