This place is just beautiful! Perfect for a wedding! I did not have my wedding or my reception here, but I did throw a little party here once. It was just perfect! Perfect size, perfect ambiance, and the food! Um um good! I am very particular about things when I throw a party, of any kind really. It has to be the perfect location, it needs to look nice, and the food must be good. Come on now, I review food a lot, you would think I'm a picky eater right! Lol. Needless to say, I think my party turned out great! I didn't try the food until that night, but I was definitely impressed. Sometimes when you cook a lot of food, each dish sometimes loses their distinct flavor, but not from abram's catering! They did amazing. We ordered cheese mushrooms, sausages, a teriyaki chicken, and various other things. We were not disappointed. If I were to have to throw some other party or get together again, I will think of the Paxton. I can have a really nice party and not have to clean up! On a side note though, make sure you plan a little in advance, they do get booked up :)

The ballroom was perfect for our wedding reception. Stylistically, it was just what we wanted: Art Deco-y, big enough for our largish wedding without feeling like a warehouse. Logistically, the events coordinator, Chad, helped the planning and day of go very smoothly. We hadn't thought much about the importance of an events coordinator when we first shopped for venues, but if you don't have a dedicated wedding planner, and especially if you're planning from out of state, this is essential. Chad has a laid back attitude but is very on top of things.

The Paxton ballroom is very beautiful and offers some unique things to guests booking this event. However I am very disappointed with their service. I have read many positive reviews of the Paxton and was excited to book a tour for my wedding. I called the venue to book a appointment and never received a call back. A month later a friend and I give them the benefit of the doubt and decided to stop by. We figured maybe we had the wrong number and stopping there was best to get the "correct number". The security guard on duty was able to get us a business card so we may call again and was even kind enough to give us recommendations on other vendors like photographers and catering. I called the number again and months flew by with no response. I decided to try booking it through The Knot App since they are very good at getting in contact with vendors and finally got a appointment. When I went in for the appointment the man I was suppose to be meeting was busy with the bride for the wedding taking place that day. I was totally fine with this and patiently waited. A Woman then came to me and said she can at least start the process for him since she was new there. However she did also remark that she technically didn't work for the Paxton but the catering. I accepted since I figured it would be helpful to the event coordinator I was to meet. I never met the event coordinator. I was told he "walked out" and he never returned for my appointment. The questions I had were never answered by the woman who helped me, I was only emailed a copy of the menu. If this is a example of their service then I don't trust them with my wedding or any other event for that matter. I don't know if they are just disorganized or unprofessional or both.

Thank you, thank you!!! You all made my daughter's wedding a perfect night. Chad was great to work with. The food was wonderful. The room looked beautiful. I know having the ceremony and reception there is a lot of work with set up but you all made it look seamless. The staff were all so nice and helpful. Many guests commented on Doug as the best bartender ever. Thanks again

They get Two Stars since it was set up properly for the ceremony and reception. Chad was the least helpful manager I have ever met. Do not have your event here. He seemed put out by any request and couldn't even try to accommodate the bride. Rehearsal night the chairs weren't set up in the style of their ceremony so we had no idea what it would look like or where we would stand/sit. This was Wednesday. His reason was it was set up for a wedding on Friday. Move the chairs for your client's rehearsal. Also, the staff tore apart the room two hours before the reception was over ruining the bride and groom's vision of the end of the night. The bride and groom wanted to have their last dance and walk out looking back at the beautiful ballroom. Late arrival guests walked in to bare wood tables with centerpieces on the stage. Cakes were wrapped up so no one could get any. The bar switched to plastic cups. This was at 9pm. They paid to stay until 11pm. While they have a beautiful venue when it is set up with rented table and chair covers it is not a place that cares about their client. I asked and Chad said that they don't clean the carpets or chairs. It shows. The bathrooms weren't maintained during the party either. The staff danced while breaking down the room early. Overall, very unprofessional. Chad wasn't there to discuss any of this with. Guests got locked out while smoking or carrying out gifts. Chad never mentioned that getting locked out might happen and what to do if it did. The staff should have been helping guests not rushing them out by stripping tables. They could clean up the bathroom while waiting for the party to end. I have worked in the biz and we would not ever strip down tables during a reception/party/meeting. Very rude. A special day that had more good than bad, but all good was expected.
