Our first time here and all we can say is OMG and DROOOOOOL...We got some pistachio and another fruity flavored ice cream which tastes amazing. Top that with our horchatas we are absolutely in food heaven. These horchatas taste totally different then we ever had before and we love them!!!! This is a definite must stop and will be a repeat stop for us from now on. Also fun trying to order as our Spanish is as bad as her English but that makes it much more interesting and entertaining.

This is a local hot spot for the neighborhood, selling everything from corn on the cob to ice cream. The menu board sits behind the counter and they have pretty much all the basic Mexican foods: taco,s burritos, nachos, Mexican corn on the cob or in a cup, Mexican ice cream, and Mexican drinks. The menu is in Spanish and the ladies behind the counter struggled to understand my English, so I enlisted the help of a bilingual youngster in line next to me to order. We were the only non-Hispanic customers at the time we dined in, so there were plenty of options of people I could have asked for help!Great mom and pop type operation. May not be worthy of a special visit but I would recommend it if you are in the area for a quick bite/snack.

Food is beyond amazing and they're very generous with their portions. The reason I gave it 3 stars was due to their customer service;they have heavy nasty attitudes

So the second installment of the quad squad samples Omaha led us to south O. We where headed down to the post office and I decided to pull into this "paleteria y neveria". I've visited several times in the past with friends and have a local post man to thank for the initial recommendation. This place is awesome. Traditional food and ice cream. Soda in glass bottles! Home made salsa in three flavors! And you can't beat the large tv with surround sound bass blaring international tv. It's truly a little peace of cultural food heaven. We got two of my usual cubanos and some street tacos to split. The kids where super impressed and I've never seen them so pumped to dig into the food when it arrived. Using my "espanol pobre" I was able to score some extra salsa verde to take home. Everyone is super friendly and the food is fresh and just down right filling. The kids wanted extras so I take that as a win. We each scored it with a 8 8 7 6 and 10. To come up with a final score of 4/5 stars.

This little hole-in-the-wall is delicious and authentic. The space is just two small bays put together where half is ice cream and desserts and the other is the restaurant. I had a delicious chicken burrito that was much better than anything off a taco truck.

I agree with what Rosa M. said in her review of this restaurant. The food is very good but the employees have terrible attitudes. I went in to order three tacos with pork carnitas and they were very tasty. After I was done eating, I went to ask what some of the items on the menu were because I am not Latino and I do not know what some of the menu items are. The girl that I asked was very rude and unhelpful. I asked what the first item was that I am unfamiliar of and the female employee gave me attitude and said meat. I do know a little Spanish and I know that la carne is the Spanish translation for meat, not what the menu item was. I then asked about what the second item was and she laughed at me and said that the item was food. I then asked to speak to a manager about the incident and she was rude as well. She ignored me when I was speaking to her and refused to do anything about the situation.

I've eaten here many times, since I work in the neighborhood. Over time, it seems my experiences have become less friendly, to the point where I think I'll be avoiding it from now on. Their tortas are very good, but wishing not to eat meat, I usually ask (in Spanish) for a Hawaiiana with extra avocado and no ham. In the past this raised eyebrows, but was not a problem. My most recent stop there, when I asked for this, I received a torta with two slices of avocado, some chunks of pineapple, and mayo. I said, "This sandwich has no cheese" and it was wordlessly snatched away from me and returned a minute later with some cheese on half of the sandwich (still no extra avocado that I had paid for). It just left me with a bad feeling. If you like meat and like good tortas, it's a great place to go, but don't expect any special service.
