For Valentine's Day, we decided to step outside our comfort zone and try something new--painting! Now, let's be clear: we are not artists, nor do we pretend to be. But hey, what's life without a little creative chaos?Upon arriving at the studio, we were warmly greeted, quickly checked in, and given the option to explore or grab a drink at the bar. The previous session had run a little over time, so the staff was hustling to reset the studio for the next round of soon-to-be Picassos. I appreciated the extra effort--they had each station prepped with paint, brushes, and palettes, making it easy for us to dive right in.Of course, we opted for a drink first. A beer and a glass of wine set us back a very reasonable $10. Not bad at all! With drinks in hand, we wandered around, admiring the finished pieces from previous sessions while soaking in the lively atmosphere. The music selection--a fantastic mix of '80s hits and yacht rock--set the perfect mood.Rachel, our instructor for the evening, took the stage, and I have to give a shoutout to the setup. Large monitors on either side of the room displayed her demonstrations, making it easy to follow along. She guided us step by step--what brush to use, how to mix the perfect shade--but for someone with zero artistic ability (me), keeping up was a challenge. More than once, I found myself a step (or three) behind. Thankfully, Rachel was a rockstar--always there to encourage, assist, and even mix paints when needed.Midway through, we took a much-needed 15-minute break, which was a nice touch. Whether you needed time to let your masterpiece dry or just catch up, it was a welcome pause. Unfortunately, there was a small medical incident during the break, but the staff handled it with care and professionalism. Luckily, everything turned out fine, but it was comforting to see how attentive they were to their guests.By the end of the night, we had our very own (questionable) works of art to take home. Are they Louvre-worthy? Absolutely not. But the memories we made? Priceless.Would we do it again? In a heartbeat. A great vibe, great drinks, and an even better experience. Highly recommend--for date night or fun with friends!

For those of you who owe your significant other big timein the date night department, Painting with a Twist is for you. For those of you that don't think you have a creative bone in your body and will forever live vicariously through the artists around you, Painting with a Twist is for you. For those of you who get tired of the lack of things to do in the Omaha area and are ready to just get out of the house alone or with family/friends, Painting with a Twist is for you...and so many more! This place is literally for everyone. Along with being super inclusive as it relates to the painting choices they offer, the are also very adamant about making sure all patrons know that you don't have to be a professional or perfectionist - it's all in fun with a little booze buzzon the side if you so choose. Here's how it works/tips/tricks: - Book online in advance! This way not only are you guaranteed a spot and can request to sit next to who you wish if you're with others, but you can also make sure you get to choose a Painting you'd actually like to hang on your wall afterwards (or gift as a present for Birthdays/Holidays - because lets be real, it is ALWAYS the season to save and this place isn't what I'd call cheap which is actually why I marked 4 stars instead of 5. See what I did there?)- Arrive early! Normally I'm a "right on time" kinda gal. But when you arrive early to get ready for your inner artist to come out, it gives you the opportunity to buy some alcohol, get your apron on and be present and focused once the instruction begins (Or already feeling wine drunk). Plus, keep in mind that if you get behind while painting it may be a bit challenging to catch up! - Pro Tip: This place is open year round, but we love going in the Winter! It's a nice cozy indoor activity!! Love this place! I've been twice already and will definitely be back!!

Went to a 'mom and me' paint with my niece which was 2 panels meant to be joined together - one for her, one for me. This was probably geared toward a younger crowd but they led the class perfectly for that. Jasmine was a really great teacher who was funny and patient for that audience. A bit pricey at $25/pp for this event/painting but my niece had a great first time experience

I have done this before, but this time was a big class. The instructor rocked it and I feel like everyone left happy! Highly recommend. This is a local small business, so please adhere to their cancel requests, they have to balance class size with instructor and materials, not an easy thing to do! I always feel proud of myself that mine looks as good as it does!

I, along with 3 of my friends, made (paid in advance) reservations to paint on 03/07/20 at 6:30pm. My children had been sick for serval days and Saturday afternoon I started feeling not well. At 3pm I took my temperature and it was 101.6. I felt okayish and knew that it was past the 24 hour cancellation policy. I called at 3:14pm to be courteous and let them know the circumstances. I spoke with a gentleman. I let him know I was sick, he stated that it was past the 4 hour mark and there were no refunds. I said I didn't know I was going to have a fever and cough/sore throat today so could there be an exception to the refund policy. To no avail. I asked to speak to the manager, he stated he was the owner. I said okay since you can't refund my money then I guess I'm coming to paint being as I paid for it. He said, and I quote, "see you there". I said okay cool thanks bye. My friends picked me up and we car pooled there. Upon checking in the girl working the desk said she had to escort me from the premises because I called and admitted I'm sick. Yeah okay, I did call and I am sick but they wouldn't refund my money so I'm going to show up to participate in what I paid for, I did the courtesy thing by calling to let them now I felt ill courtesy of my children and a trip to the Children's Museum (hello germ fest). When the owner said "see you there" I took it as an open invitation to attend. Being as they had to "escort" me out and I didn't drive, my 3 other friends also left because what were they going to do, let me sit in one of their vehicle for 2 hours while they painted? No, because they aren't crappy friends. So now all of them are out their money as well. To be exact we (4 of us) are out $37 each and a 35 minute drive out to their place of business. Had the owner said anything other than "see you there" I wouldn't have went and put my friends in the position to lose their money. For the record the owner wasn't there on site and the manager girl was just relaying the message that I wasn't allowed there and not at all in a nice way. She was very rude and confrontational about the whole ordeal. This would have been all of our first time there, it's quite shameful that it turned into such a conundrum.

I was visiting this past weekend for a wedding, and the bride's bachelorette party was held here. I've become a bit of a connoisseur of painting during this new painting party craze, so it's probably the 20th time or so I've been to one of these. This venue though really does stand out above my other experiences. First, it was nice to have a room designated for just your party. Second, it was cool they let you cater in food. Third, the wine and beer selection was great for this kind of venue. And finally, the quality of the materials and instruction was outstanding - I mean really, these brushes were awesome. The paint was gorgeous and blended nicely - and there were more than just primary colors available for you to work with. Because I'd done this type of thing before, I moved through my painting more quickly than others and enjoyed chatting with one of the staff members about the business and their history. Overall, I'd recommend this place to anyone planning a party for a large group (we had about 20 of us). A lot of fun and highly enjoyable.

I wish I could give zero stars. To start, they didn't have any examples of what we were actually painting, just something similar. So they passed out tiny photocopies from their internet listing for us to look at. Second, even though the internet listing showed the painting on reclaimed wood, it was just on a regular canvas. I figured this would be the case but they shouldn't be advertising it that way. Maybe if they had a actual example, they could put that on the website.BUT THE WORST THING: They offered my 19 yr old daughter some leftover wine at the end. She politely informed them she was underage. The gal's response? "You're only in trouble if you get caught." VERY unprofessional. I wasn't drinking either but I jumped in and said she was the designated driver. The gal still didn't seem to think that was a big deal.Very unprofessional all the way around.

Had a great time at Paint and Twist! Tonight was our first time there and we loved it!John, the owner is a hoot! He played games and gave out prizes to the winners.Do t be intimidated if you don't know how to paint, you don't need to know how. The "instructor" Greg walked us through each step of it and encouraged everyone to just have fun with it. They have a nice little bar that sells soft drinks, wine and beer and the young woman behind it was very sweet. We will definitely be back again! There were groups of friend painting, couples, and even some people that went alone...try it! You'll be hooked! We are!
