Great place to eat! Love the cozy small town.
The dessert was a warm apple crisp topped with cold vanilla ice cream.
All the food is served family style and is all you can eat.
The prime rib soup is absolutely delicious.
This home town restaurant is located on the town square of DeKalb Missouri.
Great T~Bone Steaks!

For the price and the incredible homemade pie, I'm adding a star. For being in the middle of someplace I didn't know exists, this was a really great lunch spot. I'd typically give this 4 stars, but the price, service and the homemade meringue PIE bump this up to 5, especially because this place is way better than the current 3.5 star rating. I mean, you're not in the midst of epic food eateries in De Kalb MO. Lunch was chicken salad on a croissant, and a big bowl of homemade creamy potato soup. The chicken salad was large, tasty, and had onions, celery and grapes in perfect proportions. The soup was hot and thick, with very tiny bits of carrot and other veggies. I had the chocolate meringue pie. The crust is light and buttery. The meringue is old fashioned goodness. The chocolate is dark and rich and not overly sweet. The coconut meringue looked really awesome and everyone said the coconut was incredible. I was part of a group of over 25 people and the owner made and served all the food and drinks. She did a superb job cooking and serving this meal. Water, tea (sweet or unsweetened) and coffee was included. Lunch was $13.75 including tax. That's sandwich, soup, PIE and a drink! Great place for a large gathering. I didn't have my phone handy so I couldn't grab pics. But the next time I'm close, I'll be stopping by for some coconut meringue pie!

This is absolutely nothing to make a trip to the wide spot in the road that is DeKalb, MO. The food is farm food and definitely lacks creativity. I suppose it's a fantastic spot if you love salt and boring food. I've only been subjected to this place due to its proximity to my job (job functions only). Locals say "It's like your mom or grandma would make." My mom and grandma were terrible cooks, so they're not wrong.

Family style or a few other options. Sundays are my favorite because it is fried chicken day with all the fixin's.

If your looking for some good home cooked comfort food this place is for you. The 3 course meal is served family style with very generous portions. The first course is a iceberg lettuce salad with dressing followed by a prime rib soup full of chunky potatoes and tomatoes covered in a devious beef broth. The second course comes with an assortment of hot savory meats including pulled pork and chicken fried steak with white gravy to top it all off. On the side is steaming hot corn, cheesy hash browns, and flaky cheesy biscuits. The third and final course is a warm apple crisp with cold vanilla ice cream on top. A percent finish to an amazing home cooked meal bursting with flavor.

Are they still open for business? Drove a half hour on Friday evening, just to find the door locked. At 6pm. Hours posted but no sign in window to explain.
