I bought some wonderful Japanese lacquered baskets at one of their Omaha sales and, well, couldn't be happier with a purchase! (Those baskets look TERRIFIC in our Oklahoma City kitchen, Mark! Thank you for the tip via Yelp!)

Our initial meeting with Mark was very positive, however, we were extremely disappointed with the results. We were told our sale would be in combination with another party, however, we were charged the entire advertising cost even though half of the items in the sale belonged to another party. Our major complaint was conflict of interest. Those on Mark's staff who priced items bought the items before the sale even began! Two pickup loads of items purchased by Mark's staff were marked 'Sold' before the sale began! Also, a midcentury modern lamp that Mark raved about when initially visiting our house was missing at the onset of the sale so that item was just plain stolen.Proceeds from our sale took 8 weeks! In the end, I drove 550 miles from our new residence to Omaha to visit Mark in person and collect payment for a $300 furniture item that we were not paid for that I watched being removed from our house at sales end! After writing a letter of complaint to Mark about his unsavory business practices and the fact I had to drive countless miles to collect our final payment, his response stated he was 'sick the day of our conversation and it did not happen' when in fact, my niece videoed the conversation and we have proof.I strongly do not recommend 'Our of the Closet Estate Sales'. Their unethical business practices make them a poor choice when shopping for a estate sale company to handle your items. Shop elsewhere!

I've been going to OOTCES for YEARS. Since they started. I read the review that a woman wrote which was pretty bad. I think this is the estate sale where in November the Christmas tree from the past year was thrown into the bushes by the front door, and the house was filthy. How do I know this? Because I stopped by. Also, what's the harm of a couple beers after work. If you have 12-15 people working and really great customers stopping by...offer them a cool beverage. I have given these guys things to sell. They have always been very honest almost blunt when discussing pricing with me. They have 3 days to sell the contents of a house and it's in the Omaha market so unless you have folks flying in from San Fran to shop your sale-that's what you get. Their knowledge base is amazing and they really research their pieces they are selling. It's a bit amazing to be critical of how a company prices items when an estate owner has never done a sale and they do 20 sales in a year. I would trust these guys with all my possessions with full knowledge that they always try to be honest and do what's best for me. Doubt me? Read their mission statement.

Incredibly rude driving of company vehicles. I don't know if it was an employee or an owner, but whoever was driving the vehicle for Out of the Closet on 8/7/19 at around 11:45AM near 180th and Q was unsafe and unprofessional. The man turned out right in front of me, requiring me to hit my brakes so hard my tires squealed. When the driver went into the left turn lane I passed them and looked over out of frustration and the man flipped me off. I can think of absolutely no reason this was justified since he turned in front of me and I never honked or anything. Wouldn't even matter if I did something wrong-this was totally unprofessional behavior when driving the company vehicle. Oh, and the dude flipped me off THREE times total before we finally parted ways. I honestly do not understand why, but clearly this business has an aggressive and rude employee/owner behind the wheel.

Love Mark and his team! They are always very welcoming and helpful with any questions you may have. Mark does an excellent job in displaying his clients possessions to best market them for his estate sales. I try to never miss an estate sale put on by Out Of the Closet Estate Sales!

Nothing makes me happier than to see an Out of the Closet estate sale notice show up in my Facebook feed. Mark's sales are well organized, his staff friendly and efficient and oh the items - from stained glass lighting fixtures, to 1920s bedroom sets to treasured Omaha memorabilia I have found so many great pieces. His sales are the best!

A truly horrible experience during a painful time of loss. Their employees drank on the job, stole and broke items, left the house a mess before, during, and after the sale, then padded the receipt with with charges for unsold items.Out of the Closet staff used creative accounting to take over 2/3rds of the proceeds from our sale leaving my grieving mother and disabled brother with practically nothing to rebuild on after my fathers sudden death. When Mark mentioned they would bring in a couple of high end items from another recent sale to boost traffic (a BMW, some fine jewelry), we agreed. We were astonished at the quality and quantity of the boxes and crates of low quality items littering each room of the house and the garage. Boxes of cracked frames, crumpled piano music, worn and ripped hats, jewelry, furniture, clothes, pillows and dishes were EVERYWHERE.Not only was this unappealing, but it distracted from our items - and we were paying for the sale!At least a case of empty Corona bottles littered the counters and were stuffed in every drawer of the fridge. Liquor bottles left in the home were emptied in the trash or gone altogether. We walked through the sale unnoticed one day to overhear an employee remark that certain items were unpriced because Mark had plans to use them in his own home.No wonder they encourage the family to stay away from the sale (always have a friend or trusted family member attend he sale; it's just too easy to get taken advantage of). As if that wasn't enough, I caught more than one employee outright taking things from the house after our sale was over. When I asked why items were being taken, I was first told I was mistaken. Then, when I pointed out our sale specific tags, I was told Mark said they can take "whatever." I was then rudely asked, "Aren't these items going to a thrift store now anyway?" We intended to distribute the remaining items among families, friends, and charities. It was not up to Mark or his employees to help themselves to unsold items. We did not want our parents estate to be a party venue or a thrift store. We did not expect employees to be walking out of the house with items as "gifts from Mark." We certainly never game them permission to drink cases of beer in the house or walk out with liquor from the home.We could never imagine an estate company to be so disrespectful and downright dishonest. We are still paying for our trust in them.Do not trust these people. Interview vendors and get thorough referrals first. The pain of losing a loved one is enough without having Out of the Closet owners and staff completely disrespect their memories and livelihood.

I've been to at least a dozen of Out of the Closet Estate Sales.Mark and Brent do an excellent job of understanding the customer, and bringing beautiful, elegant estate items to Market, that could not be found no where else. They are fair and honest about items that are pre owned, and are willing to give the customer the benefit of the doubt. This is the best estate sale company in Omaha, and I look forward to their next eclectic elegant sale.
