We were in town for a soccer tournament and decided to have dinner here with a couple of other families. We had initially made a reservation for 9 people and when we arrived, we ended up having 10 people and they were able to accommodate us and seat us right away. We went with the Osaka For Two Hibachi Dinner which includes 6oz lobster tail, 4oz filet mignon, 5oz scallop and 8oz shrimp. My daughter wasn't that hungry so just ordered a roll. Once the hibachi grill started, she changed her mind and ended up having a little bit of everything from my hibachi plate. Everything we ordered was flavored well. I was a bit worried when I didn't see any garlic being grilled for the fried rice but it must have been included in the butter because that fried rice was almost as good as my favorite garlic fried rice from another hibachi restaurant. Our chef made dinner so much fun. He was incredibly entertaining and kept us laughing. All 10 of us agreed that this was our favorite meal of the trip! We can't wait for our next tournament in Omaha so we can try other dishes here!

This place has gone downhill. The last three times I was there...issues with food quality. The lunch bento boxes seem to be a problem. Ordered chicken teriyaki...checked wasn't warm..the sauce was piled on like a jelly substance. Looked gross. The chicken was barely warm. It was barely edible. My spouse has eaten them (bento boxes)as well and something in the sauce on the gyozo makes my spouse ill. After the second time it was avoided.A fourth time in past had the sashimi dinner it was decent.two times though sashimi lunch twice smelled off. One time had to inform the manager and ask for all new food. The consistency of this place isn't where it used to be when it first opened. I would suggest avoiding it.

Pretty decent trip to Osaka for the first time! They have a pretty great menu outside of just sushi! We tried to get at least one roll from each area.We got the Green Dragon, Tiger, and Oishi rolls. They were a mix of cooked, raw, classic, and signature! It was pretty good but I think we were expecting a little more for the price. I would definitely go with raw fish because it was so fresh and delicious!Again, the menu is extensive so I would totally return to this cool place!Ratings:Presentation- 2/5Crunch - 1/5 (basic panko like Hyvee)Taste - 3/5Variety of Menu- 4/5Price- $$$The Omaha Sushi Project: https://www.yelp.com/collection/cA6os0jTBWbKGuo63jnWhg?utm_content=Collections&utm_source=ishare

Osaka is a semi upper scale hibachi and sushi restaurant. It's very near to the Alamo Drafthouse theater, which we frequent, so we decided to pop in before a movie with some friends. There is a side for hibachi, where you can book a reservation at one of the tables, and a side for regular dining where you can order an entree, sushi, or a hibachi meal without sitting on the hibachi side. There is also a bar between the two sides where you can sit if you just want a few cocktails and apps while you watch a game.We sat on the normal dining side, and it was bustling on a Saturday night. This didn't hurt the service, as our waiter was always checking on us to be sure we had drinks filled and our questions answered. Our group started with a few shared appetizers: -King Crab Rangoon: These were SO delicious. I was so used to normal rum of the mill Crab Rangoon so I had to try this version with King Crab, and I was not disappointed. -Baked Salmon: This was two huge lumps of salmon with snow crab, covered in a super tangy and tasty brown sauce. I am a huge fan of salmon, and this truly hit the spot for an appetizer. Highly recommend! We next order our entrees, and they each came with a side of rice, soup, and a salad:-The soup was a miso that was hearty and not super thin like misos can sometimes be.-The salad came with a sweet ginger dressing, and we all devoured ours. When our waiter brought the salads out, he somehow read my mind and asked if I wanted more dressing. That was odd - but I DID want more dressing, and just didn't have a chance to ask yet. -The rice was fried and came on the side of the hibachi entrees, with a bit of yum yum sauce. Delish!-The hibachi meals also come with two pieces of shrimp from the hibachi and those were grilled to perfection. Most of our group got the hibachi dinners that you can order in the normal dining side of the restaurant. My husband chose steak and lobster for his proteins. The lobster was to DIE FOR and super juicy and flavorful. I ordered the steak and salmon for my proteins. Again, I'm a big salmon fan so that was my favorite of the two. Very tender and flaky and went great with the yum yum sauce and grilling that had been done to it. The steak, however, was not my favorite. I had been asked how I wanted my steak cooked and I said Medium. But many of my steak pieces came out basically completely raw and inedible. It looked like a lot of the slices had been stuck together while cooking, so only one side got fired and not the inside of the stuck together pieces. Our vegetarian friend that was dining with us got the Tofu Teriyaki and she really enjoyed it. I had never had tofu that I liked, but she said I should try one piece because it had been cooked really well. I did try a bite and she was right. I may be a tofu convert as long as it is always cooked that well. Crispy on the outside and a nice chewiness on the inside. The only other negative is that it is pretty pricey compared to other restaurants of the same caliber. So there were a lot of positives, but the only things keeping it from being perfect were the raw steak issue and the high price we paid (especially for me not being able to eat half of my meal).

Four of us went for dinner last night. It was the second time for everybody; separate trips for both couples. We discussed our experience and felt it was consistent between the three visits that we have made separately or together. The food was very good, the prices are great, the service is subpar. I believe they need more training and management that specifically understands how to train servers. We were consistently waiting for anything that we asked for. Our food did not come out at the same time or even relatively close. The appetizer came out after supper was finished. Overall, it was a frustrating experience that mirrored our other experiences there. I highly recommend that Osaka hires a service manager to train kitchen and wait staff.

We went to Osaka for the first time last month. I will say it's like Kobe's steakhouse set up but the show is much shorter. Which is nice if you aren't in the mood for a long show and want to eat and talk with company. So I actually liked that. We went about an hour or so before closing so there were only two other tables. The waitstaff were all standing by our tables waiting for us to finish. They were either staring at us or on their phones, which was uncomfortable. The food was really good minus the chicken we ordered. We ended up sending it back because it was very chewy and popping when we took a bite. But everything else was good. I did like that we could order noodles and rice and the flavor was great and full of butter however, Kobe's will always be my favorite!

I believe this place is a newer business as of the date we stopped by. It was very clean and the service was really hospitable. I ordered the filet and chicken hibachi. They had some of the best steak I've ever had. Spent $50. That got me an appetizer, soup, salad, filet/chicken hibachi combo with rice and a side of noodles. AMAZING! Looking forward to going back next time I'm in town.

This is by far my favorite fried rice and my husband works nearby. I prefer take out to sitting in, unless it's not crazy busy, which is never. I've gone here a handful of times but it's never been just right. Enjoyed the hibachi with adult beverages but got seated with young children. One time we went for hibachi and got turned down. We sat in the dining area. We have conferences nearby so I'm sure I'll be back. I keep going because I truly love to fried rice. The flavor is a unique oily smoky flavor and it's not too salty. And before you pour on the soy sauce, the rice can be beautifully enhanced with the sauce that comes with it. I also like the texture of the rice. And that it also doesn't have peas and carrots. I like veggies, but fried rice is so much better without. I haven't tried much else on the menu except the crab Rangoon, which is disappointing. The flavor is not there. Not creamy enough. They are also a sushi bar, but I've surprisingly not had any here. My colleague has, though, and he's a big fan.

The server was very kind, but the food was nasty. I just got back from Fredericksburg, Virginia, where I had the best chicken teriyaki I have ever had in my life. I thought I would try out this restaurant. There is literally one carrot and one piece of broccoli on my plate. That's all they gave me. The chicken tastes disgusting like something you get out of a Microwave meal. It was so gross. It definitely was not just chicken. I don't know what it was, but it was nasty. I was terribly disappointed!!
