Loud, no parking, do not respond to messages, answer calls. Would never have an event here. Worst location for an event center. I feel sorry for the Tip Top Apartment people, I'd be irate with the loud disrespect people that rent this place out. Was in town visiting and staying at the TT at a friends., longest night ever due to some party they had going on there. Music didn't stop till midnight. So much for city noise ordinance. The design center obviously doesn't care. I'd think twice on having your event here. Better places in Omaha.

This is a nice event center, we went for the Best of Omaha Soiree. Overall a decent layout of the place. It stared with the Valet parking which always makes life easier. They had a couple bars set up around the place making it convenient to get a drink. I'm trying to keep the review related to the event space and not the Soiree but I'm not sure where the line blurs there. Overall they really did need more trash cans and little things like that but nothing is perfect and I do think the event space was nice.

On any given NYE you can usually find my husband and I on the couch in a nest of blankets and covered by a mountain of cats. Normally we're asleep with an alarm set to wake us up for New Years, and that's just how we roll guys. Let's do something different this year- I said, let's go to Omaha and ring in the New Year like all those crazy kids- I said. And my, oh my, how we missed our couch when NYE in Omaha graced us with a balmy -18 degrees F this year. Thankfully though, the check in process at the design center was inside and they kept us warm as we danced away 2017 and ate and drank our way into a belligerent 2018, just like those crazy kids. The entry to the design center is well thought out with an entire wall of doors permitting guests to quickly enter from the frozen wasteland we call 'Braska and get checked in. The space accommodated 3 bars, multiple lounge areas, a large bathroom, and a spacious ballroom. The ballroom accommodated several private booths on the sides, standing cocktail tables, several large fold up tables and chairs, a nice sized buffet, as well as plenty of room for the stage and dancing.Acoustics were good, sound and lighting all worked nicely, and the facility was clean and modern. When it was time to find your shoes, make sure you've got the right husband and make your way out to transportation, it was much appreciated that the busses were located only a short distance from the doors. The proximity of the design center to downtown Omaha and a multitude of dinner and hotel choices made this an ideal location for any type of bash, but most definitely for a NYE bash. We were thrilled our hotel was so close and our bus ride was only a short jaunt from the location, especially considering we got reminded on the bus ride what crazy inebriated kids do that make us want to hole up in our house and avoid it all. The bus ride couldn't end soon enough for this crazy cat couple. Overall, this event location really has it all. It's chic and modern, spacious with good technical accommodations, and an excellent location. It nearly made me forget that outside the stinging cold of good ol 'Braska was waiting to greet our start to 2018.

We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception here and we couldn't have been more pleased with the service, the gorgeous venue, the accommodations and the surrounding amenities! We chose this site as our venue before construction even started, as we were aware of the beautiful events that Brook and Nick Hudson were able to produce for Omaha Fashion Week and were easily convinced that the aesthetic of the Omaha Design Center would surely follow suit. They also provided the ease of an onsite coordinator to help navigate the daunting wedding planning process, which allowed me to be able to plan and prep for my wedding in 9 months during my busy job as a medical resident. They took great care of us and provided great communication with our venders to allow for the coordination of planning and set-up for everything. They allow you to use any catering company in the area, which is nice since many venues require you to use their personal caterer which can limit your options and sometimes require you to pay a higher price. They provide dinner tables, cocktail tables, tablecloths/chair covers in either white or black included in the price of the venue rental. What is really unique to this site is your ability to completely transform the room by being able to choose colored lighting that illuminates the gorgeous white curtains that line the perimeter. The curtains and stunning chandeliers add elegance to the industrial ceilings and concrete flooring. Their bar packages were much more expensive than others that we price checked in the area (ie Attitude on Food) and they require you to utilize their services. However, it actually ended up being more reasonable than we originally thought when we payed for drinks a la carte instead of "unlimited by the hour". They do accept credit cards (instead of cash-only) which is nice for guests if you only provide a limited or no open bar. The bar tenders were fantastic and even bought my husband and I a few specialty drinks on the house. The location of the venue is in close vicinity to 3 hotels that were perfect for our guests to enjoy the night and not have to worry about finding safe transportation home. The hotels also provided shuttle service to-from the airport, downtown and Midtown Crossing which allowed us and our guests to be chauffeured to our rehearsal dinner and the salon as a group at no extra cost (other than tip). The security service was incredible as well. They were professional, friendly, readily available, and attended to any concerns we had throughout the day. They also allowed us to have access to the Tip Top Lofts Rooftop to take pictures after our ceremony, which was a fun surprise to quickly sneak away as our guests were enjoying cocktails and mingling with one another. The only downside was that due to how busy they were (they had events there the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday prior to our Saturday wedding) we were unable to bring anything to set up or do any rehearsals until 9am the day of our wedding. However, this was not too big of an issue for us since we had few things to set up on our own and we stayed in the hotel next door the night before and thus had everything packed and ready to transfer over that morning. Friends and family were also of great help!If we could rewind, we would without a doubt make the same choice to get married here and I think the word is spreading quick as the venue is booking up fast! We look forward to enjoying some of the other unique events taking place there in the future!

**PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING YOUR WEDDING!!**Doing business with this hall started sour, turned out AMAZING for a short time, but ended in a nightmare. To start out, the first woman assigned to help us was not only impatient and rude, but wasn't explaining things clearly. We were finally linked up with another worker who made the experience much better. We were off! Wedding was set. The day was awesome. Here is where the sliminess set in: In discussing our alcohol package, we were given two options. A) pay a set amount of cash for a tab, or B) pay for an alcohol package based on the amount of guests. Due to our RSVPs, we came up with a set number (as many planning events know, these numbers are hard to know firmly)..We decided to go with the package for 360 guests. Our cook made food for 360 guests and we had TONS of leftovers. We had our final found at roughly 315 guests Two days after the wedding we were informed that we were being charged $3,800 DOLLARS (yes, you read that correctly). The reasoning being that "the amount of alcohol served indicated we had too many guests. No count of seats at dinner (when the alcohol was served) and there were easily 30-40 kids not of age at the party. Their only reasoning was how much alcohol was consumed. This should not have been an issue since we chose based on the fact that we knew this crew could drink and it was opening day for he Huskers Football. People got after it! Either way, very unprofessional to bring that garage up after the fact. No one approached us during the event, and it was explained to us that the alcohol was unlimited at the price we were quoted. The event planner went from the smiling/pleasant women we worked with for weeks to a person with permanent scowl on her face seeming increasingly irritated with every new question you asked her. Even with a crummy attitude, you would think a mention of a $3,800 bill would be important to bring up to you customers. We were also charged for a "stain on a couch" and "a picture that was knocked over in the bathroom."Very disappointing that a nearly perfect day was scaled back due to a place trying to get over on us. I would recommend picking another venue. The people at this one are unprofessional and shady. What they act like leading up to the day will change drastically when you get to the big event. Proceed with caution.
