Oliverde

In my crushing distress at Licorice International closing at 4pm on a Saturday, I wandered around the Haymarket lost and crying (okay, not literally crying, but too close considering what was at stake). Suddenly, a beacon of light shone down and directed me to Oliverde! Breads, oils, balsamic vinegars! These good friends got me through that tough time with plentiful samplings of bountiful flavor. My mood vastly improved, I left the store almost skipping with a $30 sampler pack - hand selected by yours truly - containing blood orange olive oil, sesame oil, garlic olive oil, chocolate balsamic, espresso balsamic, honey ginger white balsamic. I heard they're opening one in Omaha also, so bring on the flavors.

This store is flat out amazing. My fiancé and I were downtown for our engagement photos and decided to stop by. We are both obsessed with cooking and the variety of oils that this place had was amazing.Not just that, but the prices were affordable, the atmosphere was pleasant and I can't even begin to describe how great the customer service was. Im going to need to go back several times to try out the different types of olive oil they had available. Screw going to Hy-Vee and getting some random bottle off the shelf, go to Oliverde and get something special to wake your taste-buds up.

I always enjoy shopping at Oliverde! We often visit in weekends and during the Farmers Market. I love how the employees are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They are always ready to answer any of my questions and I have learned more about olive oil than I ever thought there was. One thing that I really like is how the staff never badger me and allow me to look around myself. My wife and I appreciate the quiet, low pressure atmosphere. And of course, we love the Tuscan Herb olive oil too!
