My wife and I had dinner and wanted to find a 'hidden gem' of a bar in Bellevue. We decided on Olde Towne Tavern, which is on Mission Ave. in East Bellevue. We walked in and quickly found a table. There were a few rather intoxicated gentlemen sitting at the bar that were still getting served, which never makes sense to me. I stood at the bar and it took the bartender a while to see us to get us our drinks. This bar definitely caters to it's regulars. The bartender was okay. He wasn't necessarily rude, but wasn't nice either. My wife and I grabbed beers so it's kind of hard to mess that up. I grabbed a Infusion Brewery Vanilla Bean on tap and a Best Hard Cherry Soda in a bottle. The beer on tap was cold as ice, very refreshing. They had a lot of craft beers here, which was very surprising. A glass of the Vanilla Bean was $4 and a bottle of the Hard Cherry Soda was $4, (it was supposed to be $3 but they charged me incorrectly). My wife went up to get a second round and one of the drunk guys was kind of giving her a hard time so I got up and asked my wife to sit down so she didn't have to deal with that. If a woman can't even feel comfortable, or safe, at a bar, then there's an issue in my opinion. And while I was up there, it took the bartender a while to get to me as he was serving the regulars who came up to the bar AFTER I got there. All in all, the prices were good, the beer was good, but the slowness of service, catering to the regulars, and the over-serving of some of the patrons turns me off from this bar. I doubt my wife and I will go back.

It might seem hyperbolic, but Olde Towne Tavern may be the single greatest bar I have ever been to in Bellevue. I would hate to give short shrift (or long shrift for that matter) to the deserving publicans of Bellevue. I've mostly only darted about the edges of the berg that birthed Nebraska because I'm a big fan of probable cause. I will hopefully have a chance to visit and praise more Bellevue drinkeries in the future. If you aren't familiar with the Olde Towne area in Bellevue, it's the hip, old part of town. It's got everything: authentic Italian, soul food, BBQ, coffee, gift shops, a jeweler and the Bellevue Little Theatre. To my way of thinking, the most efficient route to the most quaint portion of Bellevue via the toll bridge off I-29 over the Missouri. This lands you closest to your final destination and furthest from a suspicion of speeding ticket.Addressing the Damoclean parking situation, it's incredible. Until one has lived in places as crowded and diverse as New York, Honolulu or Ames, Iowa, one cannot fully appreciate copious, full-sized, free parking on both the street and in the alley behind Olde Towne Tavern. There are 22 beers on tap at any given moment at Olde Towne Tavern. I don't ask for free samples often because it feels like entitlement behavior, but I will accept them when generously offered as they were by manager Greg. I sampled two 4/20 specials The Waldos from Lagunitas and The Hemperor HPA from New Belgium. They were both delicious and sported a bouquet like the inside of a full ounce of super dank Skywalker nugs, I imagine. Get them before they're gone.Greg is proud of his frequently rotating taps and rightly so. Oso Cafe from Pint 9, Adios Pantalones from Rahr Sons, Devil's Gap Jalapeño Ale from Kinkaider, 90 Shilling from Odell and Infusion's Vanilla Bean Blonde take their place next to the Bud Light, Dos Equis, Blue Moon et al. Normal rates are $3 for domestic pints and $5 for craft beers.Happy hours are 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Friday and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays with $2 domestics and $3.50 craft pints. Drink like it's the 70s on Old School Sundays featuring $2 tallboys of Pabst Blue Ribbon, Old Style, Hamm's, Miller High Life, Schlitz and Colt 45 Malt Liquor.Olde Towne Tavern has an annual Oktoberfest, frequent pint night specials to promote new beers, and they will be celebrating their four-year anniversary at the end of June. There is no website, but you may find them on Facebook or just wander in off the street for a friendly treat.Olde Towne Tavern is a worthy inclusion to your itinerary whether your are looking for a new bar to call home or just need a change of pace to spice up a weekend pub crawl.

My review is torn. 4 stars to the variety of beers and the pricing in this place.2 stars to the lack of common sense held in this place. My husband and I wanted to go somewhere cheap, divey, hole-in-the-wall, and we ended up paying for it in a way. I hate drinking at home, but I also don't like paying $10 for a cocktail. We settled for a place in Bellevue, The Olde Towne Tavern. The place itself is a little sketchy and we weren't sure if it was a smoking place or not since there is Keno. There was no one smoking inside. The palce was pretty busy and the bar was full. There were a couple tables open. I went to the restroom before ordering a drink. The bathroom was actually decent and looked re-finished. I was impressed. They had a ton of beer on tap and looked like they changed out beers often. They even had Infusion Brewery Vanilla Bean on tap! They had 2 different kinds of IPAs on tap (my favorite). They also had a lot of shot specials going on when we were there on a Friday night. I had an F5 and it was nice and cold. The bartender only asked us how old we were. I never think that is a good idea. If you have to ask, might as well ask for a card, rather than lose your license. We sat and drank and people watched. It was evident that 4-5 of the guys were highly intoxicated. Slurring their words, stumbling, making racial slurs, etc. They were continued to be served. To me, that's just not smart. When I went to get my second drink, they made comments that made me very uncomfortable. I ended having to switch with my husband in the fear that their comments would get worse. In all, I'd love to come back and drink here, but seems a little sketchy that they don't cut off, what seem to be the "regulars."

Wouldn't know it by looking at it from outside, but this is actually quite a great little bar. 22 taps and most of them are great craft beers from all over and the prices are very reasonable. I've been there three times now and the service has been quick and friendly. Will be back.

The place to be on a Friday night! Mark is the best bar tender ever! They were cash only the last couple of times we were there.

Unassuming little place. A bit dated but in the right way - it's clean, well-lit and has several great beers on tap. Clearly some regulars here and a very "Cheers" feel about it in that everyone feels comfortable talking to everyone OR feels comfortable keeping to themselves. Fresh popcorn is available and the service was not overly friendly but certainly fast and got the job done. We'd come in again.

Such a hidden little gem. They surprisingly have an awesome tap list that is frequently rotating. It has all the feels of a local dive bar with beer that tastes good.
