O'Rourke's Tavern

I love this place. I may be biased, but I used to go in the '90s. Bar is pretty much the same. Dustin, behind the bar, is doing a great job.

Before my most recent visit, I hadn't been inside O'Rourke's since before Nebraska banned smoking indoors. Imagine my surprise. This is actually a pretty nice bar.It's on a main drag in a college town, so the crowd skews young, but it's a bit of an odd duck since it doesn't get the normal college crowd. Instead, picture a cool little dive in the middle of the madness, where you can meet up for a drink. There's a decent beer selection. Spirits are here too. I wouldn't look for anything wild, but they do well with the basics. The drinks are sold at college prices. I ordered a couple of well whiskey and Cokes and walked out paying $10 including tip. It may have been a nightly special, but it's nothing to shake a stick at.

Bought a voucher on Groupon to try this place and I'm glad I did. Very reasonable drink prices, with a wide range of beer options. The bartenders were very nice and had good conversation. They also had a jukebox which is always a plus.

I can promise you that O'Rourke's owner is the last person to give a hoot-n-hell about this, or any, review posted on Yelp.However, he does care about creating one of the most authentic community experiences you can have in downtown Lincoln. O'Rourke's delivers that in spades. The staff is as genuine as they can be. Their purpose is the perpetuate the "melting pot" experience the best they can. They have full permission to to call a "dick" a DICK...skip your jukebox play or make you one of their best friends. Whatever is bothering you....leave it at the door..."crazy" is already on tap there. So....if you are a certain person who demands a sense of decorum and etiquette, a couple of doors down is a miserable person giving you the standard template responses (Yes, sir- Some weather we are having huh- can I get anything else for yah)....go there are say hi to Karen. But if you are looking for a place where making your way in the world today takes everything you got...where taking a break from all of your worries sure would help alot...then the bar you wanna go O'Rourke's is the name. Pour some on the floor for BONES. :) Cheers

Cool towny type sports bar in Lincoln! With a smoking room! I don't smoke but my buds we were meeting there sure did, and they like to do it chain smoke style! This was a good spot to get an afternoon brew! Tv's for sports watching and all age groups represented! Not your typical college town sports bar! I dug it, but man if your not into smoke don't sit in that smoking room, I felt like I was re-filming the movie, "Backdraft"!

Ordered several drinks tonight with my wife and cousin while we were in town and completely forgot to give a tip to the bartender. Then when I went to apologetically tip her, she mentions I "forgot to tip the last time we were there"... We've NEVER been there, aren't even from the area, and the prices ARE good, but c'mon...

I love O'rouke. Single cigs, great vibes, and amazing bartenders. Megan is my favorite. Thanks again O'Roukes you make life better!

Funny story. Some friends and I almost had to beat on this old roughneck who wanted to challenge us to a game of pool...claiming he won the last round, walking over from across the room and after we'd put our money in.Anyway, belligerent pool sharks aside, this place is alright. Prices are about what you'd expect at a lot of other places, like 4 bucks a beer or something like that. There's two pool tables in the back, and they serve free popcorn. Nothing exemplary other than that, but it'll do for a weekend.

Love this bar, great atmosphere and cheap drinks, the dance/dj nights are unbelievably fun
