Context: Bridesmaid, some of my family was present at the wedding.Pros: Easy to reach over email, the price was right, generally friendly on the day of the wedding. The pictures were put up on a website after so all family and friends could look at them. Pretty photos.Cons: Inexperienced. At the wedding, the photographer and her assistants didn't really know how to pose us, didn't learn our names ("hey you, move the right" doesn't work very well in a big group), and missed a lot of good moments while they were studying a book of sample photos they had brought along. All of this would have been forgiven had the actual photo ordering and delivery process gone smoother. I wanted 9 photos. 4x6 photos cost $5/each to be printed, and a DVD of all the photos I wanted cost $40. I decided to go with the DVD. I emailed the photographer and requested digital copies of the images to be put on a DVD using the numbers that identify the photos on the website. Two weeks went by. I emailed her, and the day after she told me I should have already received it, she emailed me again to let me know that it had come back to her without enough postage on it. She mailed out another copy that day. When the DVD arrived, the disc was blank and the plastic CD case it was in had shattered. I let her know, and then asked for print versions of the photos instead. I received 11 photos, some of them I had requested, some I hadn't, and there were copies of several photos that I had not ordered. So, I let her know again, and she said she would take care of it. A week later I get another package, but again, not the photos I had wanted. At this point I gave up. When I told her that the order was still wrong, she said that this has never happened to her before, and that these mix-ups were totally unique to my situation. Maybe; I find it hard to believe that three totally different mistakes (DVD problems, number mix-ups, copies I didn't order) happened to me that had never happened before. So, bottom line: The photographer's inexperience and ridiculous mix-ups in ordering were just too much. I know she's starting out, so I don't want to be too negative... but ugh.
