Mondo's Restaurant

I am new to the area. Decided to take my Mother out for a nice breakfast. It was highly disappointing from the moment we walked in the door. We walked in, and just completely ignored. Server did not say hello or even acknowledge us. I asked if we seat ourselves. Just got a yes answer. Then completely ignored for about 5 minutes while we sat at our table with no menus. There was only one other table in the restaurant. We finally got menus. Still no greeting, just a "what can I get you to drink?". We felt very unwelcome. I then, saw the server take the check to the other table in the restaurant. At that point, the gentleman at the table stopped the server to let her know that his food was not satisfactory, and that food of this quality should not be served. And informed her that he was complaining for her benefit, because customers talk to other customers, and that can cause potential customers to go elsewhere. He went up to pay, and the server, in a very unfriendly manner, told the gentleman that she took his hashbrowns off the bill. He thanked her. And then she told this man, that she would appreciate it if he didn't talk to her like that and not to threaten her again. He was never threatening to her. It was very unprofessional and the customer service was terrible! I have been in the service industry for over 20 years. This is not how you treat guests. I understand if they are in the wrong, but this gentleman did nothing wrong. Our food was mediocre. My mother's biscuits and gravy were cold. My hashbrowns were greasy and soggy. Our server never came back to the table after delivering our food. I had to track her down to pay. It was one of the worst experiences I've had in a long time, and I will definitely go elsewhere in the future.

The best breakfast in town. My kids love the huge cinnamon rolls the size of my toddlers head. I never had eggs cooked wrong like most places I go to. The biscuits and gravy are amazing and I seem to get the same waitress everytime I am there. She is friendly and loves to strike up a conversation with my kids and I. Everything is homemade so it's like comfort food from grandma's kitchen in restaurant form.

Best breakfast around. Always fast and delicious and never a problem over all the decades they've been in business. One of the only good places to eat in town.

I've only been here around 5 times and I can tell you it's really a hit or miss. Last time I went in was around a week ago for breakfast around 10-10:30. I ordered a Belgian waffle (was very cold and soggy), and my great grandma ordered biscuits and gravy. Her meal looked like the gravy was hard as a brick and had been laying out since 6 AM. Very disappointed. Don't know if they changed owners?? Pretty gross food and not very clean or friendly!!!!!!

Waitress ignored us. No menu, nothing for at least 15 min. When we got up to leave I told her she should of acknowledged us from the beginning. She claimed she didn't see us, but we knew that was a lie. She told us to go ahead and leave and said she didn't care. I called the owner later that day. I am really hoping something was done about this. If this would of happened in a bigger town she would b out of work.

Don't visit this place. We went to restaurant just as we have done for years and we were asked to leave because they demanded the papers to my friends service dog. Then gave away our table. Under the ADA act they are not legally allowed to ask for papers.

This is the nastiest, greasiest restaurant ever! I highly do not recommend! If I were you I'd go somewhere else this place I really bad, waitresses are horrible. They smell like straight cigarette smoke everytime they walk by. Food absolutely cold. And if you look through the server window NO STAFF IS WEARING GLOVES!!! Gross! Honestly would not surprise me how much cross contamination is done here. Floors are grosss if you look under booths by the walls there is always trash. Food is absolutely disgusting! Please people spend your money somewhere else! Really not recommended

3rd & last time. Waitresses are rarely nice, today they were exceptionally cold. After we ordered we never saw the cranky elderly waitress again. We both ordered the 2 piece chicken special. The mashed potatoes & gravy portion was tiny & a few degrees above cold. The chicken was either seconds away from being burnt or the oil was well past time to be changed. Since our waitress never came back, I asked one passing by for a to go box (for the dog) & she acted as if I was torturing her, didn't even attempt to hide her annoyance at being asked to perform such a difficult task. 3rd strike, you never get my money again.

Second trip there; my brother and I like to find these small town places after golfing since neither of us is really into the chain restaurants. Wish I could recommend it, but I can't after today. First time there 2 months ago the food was fine, but the service was pretty indifferent. Today the food was fine again, but it seemed to take forever to get seated, forever to get waited on, forever for the drinks to come and our actual order to be taken. At least the food itself came in reasonable time. Then after the meal, we waited at least 10-12 minutes for someone to bring the check - I finally had enough and went up to the front counter to get it. The woman working there pointedly ignored me for a couple of minutes, another woman finally gave me the check, and while that was happening, an old couple came up to the counter with their check and had their payment accepted before I was to be helped, even though I finally had the check in hand at that point. My impression is that you may get decent service if you're a local and they know you, but if you're an "outsider" as we apparently are, they can barely be bothered with you. We will not be going back a third time... ever. I'd rather eat at Burger King than put up with that again.

Solid diner food with a seemingly large following. We arrived after the breakfast rush, but before lunch got going. Son had 1/2 order of biscuits & sausage gravy with fried eggs & sausage. (Half order was enough for almost any adult.) I had a sausage omelet topped with American cheese, hash browns & Texas toast, along with coffee (which was delivered in an insulated carafe).Food was tasty and served quickly, service was friendly. A very good experience - we'd come back again.
