I love MilkWorks. I have gone there several times with my third child and truly feel supported. I wish something like this would have existed when I was a first or second-time mom. I hope to see the Omaha location expand to offer the classes and resources like the Lincoln one does. In the meantime, the staff is amazing and very supportive. Whether you need a consultant, pump, or just want to do a weighted feeding, this is the place to go.

Milkworks offers anything and everything you need for the breastfed baby. They have a large selection of Medela Products, and many other accessories for baby. They are located in a convenient location in Rockbrook Village. Be sure to check out Baby Junk while you're there too. I came in her for a free weight check since we were in the area. It was nice to get a free weight between doctor's appointments. If you are having difficulty with breastfeeding, or worried whether or not baby is not getting enough, this is a great option, especially if you're local hospital support group is closed. With an appointment, a certified lactation consultant with work with you and your baby to have the best breastfeeding experience possible. You can do a weighted feed, meet with the LC with problems, and see if your pump is working up to par. Note: They bill through insurance. If you are having trouble with your pump and didn't buy it from here, it's a $10 fee. When my LO was born, we went to the nearest hospital (one i didn't deliver at) and sought help/support there for free. The only reason I would go to MilkWorks if I was having absolute difficulty with a newborn and needed help right then and there, and the local hospital's support group was days away before running it through insurance at Milkworks.

This place has been beyond amazing! There has never been a question unanswered and I have never left feeling less confident than when I went in! They have any and everything you could ever need when it comes to helping you breastfeed and are ALWAYS willing to help! They are willing to work with both you and your insurance which is a major plus, and if that's not always possible they will give you all the suggestions they can! Whoever that person is claiming that all they care about are profits should truly look up the definition of a NONPROFIT organization, the place has free resources all over the place for crying out loud! If anyone I know ever has questions about breastfeeding I would recommend this place in a heartbeat! I wouldn't let this persons clear lack of knowledge about their own insurance coverage and therefore invalid statement turn you away from this place, because it full of absolutely fabulous, knowledgeable, loving people! I would give them 10 stars if I could!!!

I was struggling with breast feeding my newborn, I met with a great lactation consultant who worked with me until my supply increased and technique improved. I would have otherwise given up. I am so very thankful. I have always had a wonderful experience at the Lincoln location.

Milkworks is a breastfeeding support center, a baby boutique, and one of the best resources for new parents in Lincoln. We have taken two classes so far at Milkworks - one on cloth diapers and one on breast feeding. Both were incredibly informative, taught by knowledgeable instructors and provided details that are hard to get out of a book. The classes welcome both moms and dads. The boutique, Babyworks, has baby clothes, shoes, diaper bags, cloth diapers, toys, nursing bras, and nursing pjs. We haven't used the services of the lactation consultants, but we have used the baby scale to weigh our little one - a great free resource for the community. This place is fantastic, somewhere we recommend to anyone having a baby.

I was very disappointed in my experience with the Milkworks in Omaha. I had wanted to rent a Medela Symphony breastpump - an amazing, hospital-grade one I had with my 2nd baby, an 8wk premie who was in the NICU. They had them in stock but would only rent me one if I paid cash for it; they refused to go through my Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance. I called several times and talked with several people to get an answer as to why - finally getting the answer that insurance doesn't reimburse them enough. I even offered to pay the difference - nope. Silly me - I thought they were in the business of helping new moms breastfeed and support them. I guess that's only true if you have enough money to pay cash so they can make more profit. I talked with a few of the other staff members who were nice and suggested other models. But still, the fact remains they didn't help me when I needed them as they were more concerned about profit - sad. I ended up finding an AMAZING medical supply place in Weeping Water who were my life savers!
