Something very strange is going on at this store. My bike was stolen last month and everyone, including the police told me to check the local pawn shops. This particular pawn shop seems to be open, but they won't let anybody inside. They claim they are closed for inventory. I can understand this taking a day or two, but three weeks?

This location is the only one that I know of. It is not like the other pawn shops that have multiple locations around town. These guys have just about everything that you will find in a pawn store. Electronics, speakers, DVD and CDs, and talk about tools. So many tools inside that one could get lost. I was looking for a multimeter and got overwhelmed. The layout is a bit sporadic and the people are a little weird, but it is a pawn shop. It takes a once around to become familiar with it and it is worth it. I never needed to pawn or sell my belongings so I can't comment. If you are looking for firearms than you should probably check elsewhere. If you need some rims or subs or sporting items you could give these folks a shot.

Went to this shop and it was closed. I had called in ahead of time and said they were open. Finally a guy in taped up glasses shows up. I said I called so they let me, but store hours said they should be open. I asked about guitars for sale and they have an area of 30 guitars or so on display and none of them are for sale. Apparently anything good in the store becomes owners personal collection to show off rather than be bought back or offer to the public. Says all of our stuff for sale is on eBay and we don't display it on the floor. WTH? Should have just told me the eBay name when I called asking you about guitars. How stupid is it not to display your merch in your store but just to display crap you are keeping and won't let anyone buy? If you pawn here they are just going to post it up on eBay and sell it. I wouldn't do business here. Others report this business is racist. You show up they might not even let you in even though it's supposed to be open.

I'm not sure if they are still in business but I wanted to leave my review. These folks have always been really good to us. My son is autistic and calls them the "Video Store". He loves to just look for a long time at all of the titles. Sometimes he never buys anythings but when he does they only charge him .25. The are so nice and patient with him and are always happy to see him. They have supported my efforts in the past to put musical instruments in the North Omaha elementary schools. They will not just jump off their chairs and hug a stranger when they come in but if you are nice and take the time to talk to them you will find them to be very pleasant and friendly. They have been in business long enough to see the worst in humanity yet still have theirs. They are def not racists and have diversity in their own group. I hope they reopen soon as we miss them. P.S. Also give the best breaks on jewelry prices in town, just ask my wife.

I thought at first the review that said they wish they could put negative stars was harsh, but they are 100% correct. Hands down the worst customer service I have ever received. I had every intention on buying a guitar until I was treated in such a manner. I'm shocked they are still in business.

Sorry - I did not have a good experience with Mid-City - I trusted the owner in a good faith transaction between "friends" without documentation - I had to pawn my late Mother's wedding ring when things were really tough. When I went to get it, it had "disappeared" - been sold in another market or though the inter-market between diamond sellers. Without paperwork friends mean nothing compared to a three carat diamond - I was devastated - Never will get over it - Guess I was too trusting
