Just like the government. They shut service off without proper notice. No note left on door. They say they attempted to contact me from a non omaha number, which makes no sense. With the amount of spam calls everyone recieves daily, and robocalls, i dont answer unless its an Omaha number or i identify it, i will answer. Quick to shut off but take all day to turn back on. Bring in competition to Omaha. M.U.D. has a Monopoly. Competition would bring better service to Omaha. They would actually have to care about what people go through. All executives and board members are nothing more than people who care about lining their pockets and crap on the people they are supposed to service. Pathetic operations they have.

The website for changing the address of service does not work. I answered all the questions, and there were many. Clicked "submit" and my screen went completely white. So I called to follow up, and was told they didn't have any record of an upcoming address change for me. I mentioned the white screen and the CSR said "yes, that's been happening a lot."If you know it's been happening, MUD, perhaps you could fix it?That said, CSR Shayla on the phone was kind, helpful and professional. On 2/6 my brother had a gas leak, Mud came out and shut it off very quickly, On 02/06 I called for a bid. Jerry came out explained things and gave us a bid, he then set up our appt for later in the day. Please thank Jerry for us, He was great, I understand many times they are just doing their job but Jerry brought with him, kindness, knowledge and was very efficient, Later another gentlemen came out to fix the issue and was great also. I wish I could give them zero stars. The customer service at this company is a joke but what more can you expect from a monopolized company. I wish you had competition because I would go running to them. On a side note your water is nasty and undrinkable too.

I have NEVER been a fan of M.U.D. until today. I thought their customer service was atrocious, and for the most part, it IS. HOWEVER, I had the opportunity to speak to a lady named Carol regarding a billing concern. She was, without a doubt, one of the most professional, caring and helpful people I have run into within the last couple weeks in the customer service industry. She was unable to answer my question and she offered to find out and call me back. Well, she actually called me back TWICE. The first time was to apologize for not getting back to me in a timely manner (woo hoo - this is unheard of) and then the second time with the resolution. Now all M.U.D needs to do is figure out a way to get HER to train most of the other customer service people on the phone!

Charge a monthly fee even if you don't use any gas. Their website is absolute garbage and constantly crashes. you'd think with over 200 million in revenue that they'd be able to maintain an up to date website. They were found guilty of not marking out gas lines properly that caused the Ms Pub fire and their settlement it just being paid by the customers. They have a tight monopoly on Omaha and the CEOs don't give a **** about the people of Omaha

Metropolitan Utilities District is the most dishonest, insensitive, heartless bunch of uneducated bill collectors I have ever met.I saw them turn off the heat in a home with two pre teen children who were wrapped in blankets shivering all night long. They demanded more money, to add to their fat billions. These people shut off your water, even if you are handicapped, elderly or suffering from the death of your husband. They simply put your name on bills you don't owe, and instead of proving you owe it, they just shut off your water. They are heatless, cruel and have no moral conscious. They are amused by the suffering they cause others. They simply don/t care about people.MUD employees have no compassion or concern for those in our society they cant bilk more money from. They need to be replaced by decent human beings. They are the lowest element in our society.

I dont want to give any stars. I am shocked at the unprofessional behavior of the call center employee's. I went down to turn the utilities into my name after Tennant moved. First to counter for oppd then 30 feet to mud same building now. Sat at a desk with a very nice woman who I thought handled everything she even took the previous owners name off the he emergency contact. Well I wasn't getting a bill I called call center has no record of it being changed to me. Lady made out I was confused and must of been at oppd. Really. Come on. She would not listen or look into it. She said my previous tenant called in and cancelled service. I said really how he's in jail. She said then he called from jail.I said oh really you accept recordings from jail. She talked down to me and told me repeatedly I was never there. I am going down tomorrow and getting to the bottom . Her behavior was cold uncaring and disrespectful. I will get her name and post it when I get to bottom of this. She deserves to be recognized for her outstanding way of treating customers like idiots. Kept telling me she has no idea what I'm talking about I must be confused she kept saying
