If Omaha had a Central Park, for me, this would be it. It's such a large park that covers quite an area of midtown Omaha. There are many walking trails, the huge hill that over looks Dodge street, and sprawling greens perfect for a picnic.I've attended the free concerts here since I was in high school, and the the park continues to improve year after year (probably becaue one it's neighbors is the Oracle of Omaha.)Definitely a fun spot to take out of towners looking to get into nature. It's centrally located near the UNO campus, as well as Dundee

One of my staple locations for a walk! I really like how accessible Memorial park is from different areas/entry points, whether you're in Dundee, the surrounding neighborhoods, or UNO. There is a good ratio of green space and sidewalks that are great for walking or running. It is always pleasant to see a good amount of fellow walkers, runners, and dog walkers. I know that there are also large hills that are heavily utilized for sledding in the winter. I've always found the paths to be clean and well-maintained. It is kid friendly with a nice playground along one of the paths. The memorials and (seasonal) plants and flowers at the park's hub are beautiful as well. It would be perfect if there was a public restroom.

We stopped by this park briefly to view the Times Magazine statue from World War II. This park is gorgeous and well-kept for the WWII, Korean, and Vietnam military memorial. It's a peaceful area to walk around, and has a nice overlooking view.

Nice decent-sized park, well maintained and has a very meaningful/powerful statue that acts as the center of the park. There are various stone plaques around the park that all tell their own story and symbolize honor in their own unique way.

Memorial Park is one of the best parks in Omaha! Whether you want to go on a run, have a picnic, hammock in the trees, visit the rose garden, or have a game of ultimate frisbee, there is enough space for everyone to do as they please. The Christmas lights that they currently have up are also beautiful to visit and enjoy in the evenings. I've never had an issue with parking, even on their busiest summer days. Their beautiful monuments honor those who lost their lives in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Definitely worth a stop if you're looking to get outside!

We ended up here randomly after learning the businesses in the Blackstone District get a late start on Sundays. We decided to drive around randomly since it was nearly 100 degrees and hanging out in the car or on the street for half an hour would have resulted in a sweaty mess. The hilltop memorial caught our eye so we decided to drive up and see what it was all about. The memorial is beautiful and the sled hill offers a great view. The rose garden is small but filled with huge, perfect blooms - kudos to the Omaha Rose Society!

I've been here in the past for summer sponsored concerts and ultimate frisbee tournaments in college, but since then, haven't visited often. Beside a playground and a few cool artsy landscaped flower beds scattered throughout, Memorial Park is GRASS. Acres of grass it seems, stretching endlessly in all directions with trees, slopes and hills. This means you could have a picnic (along with a lot of small flying gnat like bugs in the grass), practice sports, do running drill work outs, or play with your dog. Nothing else comes to mind, since this place doesn't seem to have a bathroom (read: dont stay too long), water fountains, or built shelter from the sun other than the sturdy and large mature trees. Again, expect bugs in all warm seasons! I wear long pants and covered shoes, even in the summer time. I think its a great park for a short romp, but not for too long. My dog loves running on the endless lawn leash free, since it's so far from a street that I feel safe letting him free! I always bring him water and some for myself too-dont forget that in the hot summer months!

One of Omaha's most iconic parks, Memorial is always a great spot to take a walk, throw a frisbee or sit back, relax and have a picnic.A couple friends and I took a bike ride to Memorial Park yesterday to enjoy some food we picked up at Amsterdam in Dundee. While spring was in the air, we were bummed that the view from the memorial down towards Dodge street was nothing but trees yet to bloom (I mean it's the first week of April already!). Even so, like usual, it's a peaceful site to see and we enjoyed our food as we people watched -- kids rolling down the giant hill, joggers zoned out to the quiet thumping of their earbuds, dog enthusiasts enthusiastically romping around with their dogs. And let's not forget about the revolving pack of pot head high schoolers sprawled about near the park's exit. Yeah, like always, they were there, too.

Love going to this park! No bathroom so make sure you to go before if you plan to stay long. Wish this park had more trash cans or water fountain. Also, if you bring your dog, please watch them. Some people unfortunately do not have friendly dogs, so don't assume every dog wants to engage with yours.
