Friendly service, nice atmosphere, BEST BEER GARDEN around! The owners always support the community in fundraising events. One of the best bars in town!

Went to Mel's on saint patricks day and the place looked moderately full. Doors were locked and a few people left but the gal (Carmen) refused us entry. We asked why and she just shut the door on our face. Very poor service and customer service. It's saint Patrick's day and we can't go to your establishment???

The bar side is called Sweet Williams lounge. It tends to be a bit of a hipster place. Overly tanned women and under dressed men. The drinks are fairly reasonable, but a bit on the high side for Norfolk. They used to, maybe do, serve food. If they still do, get the nachos.
